Hello, The app is free to use on the basic notch export options and has the optional upgrade to unlock more features AND the removal of ads and watermarks. It is impossible to do a full version free app without ads. About the subscription, you have the option to pay monthly and get access to new themes and arts, provided on a monthly basis.
