Records but doesn't play back! rubbish.
  • Please fix! App encodes incorrect time code!

Most of what this app does is flawless, but it keeps encoding a 24fps time code in the WAV files instead of the 23.97 of the tentacle it’s synced to.
  • Thank you!

A very simple audio recorder with input level control and easy file sharing options. I’ve been looking for something like this for ages.
  • File names

It would be nice to be able to change the file names

    Developer Response

It's possible to change the file name of individual files by swiping left and tapping "Rename". Also, you change the default filename prefix in settings.
  • Approved

I was looking for a way to store only audio recordings and this worked out well!
  • Doesn’t work with iOS 13.3

Completely useless. Unreliable and without gain control. TC only works in 1% of the time. Can’t use watch time as TC. just plain useless. Let’s hope it gets better!

    Developer Response

Input gain is not settable on newer iPhones, devices newer than iPhone 8 or 9 no longer support it. For the other issues you reported, please write to support@tentaclesync.com so we can try to find a solution.
  • Nice app but needs to be more reliable..

Functionality wise, the app is great, but unfortunately it isn’t updated regularly enough to stay reliable with a wide variety of phones. If I can’t rely on this app to work when I need it to, I can’t use it at all.

Specifically my issue is that the app consistently crashes when switching from the record page to the media page on my new iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Hopefully they can give their apps more attention and make them viable for production work in the future, but for now that’s just not happening.

  • Nah

Just opened the app and it kept crashing. This has great potential but it apparently isn’t being executed well.

  • Great Idea

You guys are awesome. Thanks for not sitting around but continuing to make awesome stuff! Having extra TC embedded scratch audio is awesome. Have yet to use this on a long shoot day, so we will see how it handles real use.
Some requests? Make this save to IOS Files by default? This would avoid manual exporting and sharing.

    Developer Response

Recorded files should be available in the iOS "Files" app by default, but may be difficult to find. Open the "Files" app -> tap on "Browse" in the bottom tab bar -> select "On my iPhone" -> select the "Recorder" folder. If the "On my iPhone" option is not visible, you may have to enable it once by pressing the button with a circle and three dots in the upper right corner and selecting "Edit".
