Literally useless without the subscription
If you like looking at icons and that’s it this is the app for you! Because that’s all you get to do in the free version, if you decide to touch one of the icon bubbles it’ll pop up “Discover CarOS” which means pay us. Not worth it
Needs to be rebuilt. Google maps won’t work. If you like Waze - go for it. Other than that, it looks the same as the applications already on your phone. This app functions as shortcuts to those apps. Nice concept but nothing to see here.jathke
Total rip off

Not hands free at all
I got this app thinking I could use it like CarPlay, but it’s far from that. ( I still don’t understand why Apple doesn’t come out with CarPlay for iPhone). Anyway, you dictate a text and have to press send to send it and it goes to your iMessage app to really send it. Incoming texts are not read out over the speaker. You still need to take your eyes off the road to read the text. The interface is nice, but useless.Show lessMarcofx3

Bad. Subscribed but still can’t access anything except free version. Now I have to fight to get money back and stop billing. Not ready.John T Sr
Good idea but....
Free version offers no real functionality other than maps and to take a look around. Advice to the developer, offer a free fully-functional version for 30-day trial and then see if people want to pay. You’re not going to get any traction trying to charge up front, it also feels like it’s a beta and not full release.Show lessdangerdj
Am I missing something?
I’ve worked with this app for one day and there is no way for me to control this app using my voice/ Siri from within the app. Should the whole point in using an app called caros be a hands free one? We read stories in the news about a driver receiving a ticket for using their phone in the McDonald’s drive thru. Or skipping to the next track on the phone while in a dash mounted holder. A good idea, not well executed
While the author should be commended for attempting to write a standalone replacement for CarPlay, the other reviewers are right: It’s not easy to write such an app and the author has not succeeded. There are very few apps that I’ve deleted immediately after trying them, but this is one of them.UBC Guy
