  • Maze: Nightmare Realm by LynxMinx

Although I have enjoyed this series, I felt that this installment was not nearly as good as its predecessors. The storyline of entering a reverie to defeat monsters was banal. You could customize settings. The graphics reflected the generalized gloom of a nightmare, but they were very dark. There was an in-game teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. At each location the collectible was a zany swirl, and some were quite challenging to find. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. Considering that this was Mad Head, I was disappointed that the HO scenes were not more unusual, and that we didn’t have different perspectives to examine objects. Morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes. Most of the puzzles/games were either very simplistic or repetitive. The general gameplay was enjoyable, because you must think outside the box to solve certain tasks, and inventory usage was somewhat inventive. However, this game had some touch screen sensitivity issues and it was hard to manipulate certain items. I really got tired of seeing the phrase “that won’t work” when I was utilizing the correct item! The dialogue refresh rate needed to be a lot quicker. This game was extremely short inclusive of the bonus adventure. Normally Mad Head gives us a much longer gaming experience!
My true rating will be 3.5 stars. I deducted stars for length, lack of a strong storyline, and for touch screen sensitivity issues.
Next week on Thursday we should be getting a new game from Artifex Mundi. Thank you to Catalina for sharing the information you got from Five BN; I sure hope they work out their issues because everyone is looking forward to the sequel to Legacy. Happy gaming, everyone!
Update: No new game today! What are they going to do to us on Monday, give us nothing and a Memorial Day sale?

Loving the creativity of this game! SO much suspense and adventure - was Very difficult to put down and make this one last. Very original and unique storyline, thought provoking, different style, that only Mad Head Games could come up with.
Collectibles and morphing objects to find. A lot more fun, not accessing the teleporting map - even though one is provided. Graphics are incredible, as well as the characters. I have nothing but positive things to say about this Gem 💎 of a game. Highly recommend if you Love ❤️ suspense and staying on the edge of your seat! Play, Enjoy and get your Heart racing.

P.S. Fellow gamers, I heard back again after I contacted FiveBn games on the release we all have been waiting for forever! Prisoner: The Legacy. What I was told is that they are having trouble with Apple and are working on getting this released. They, however, did not elaborate on what exactly the problem is. Just letting you know, what I found out. So hopefully soon we will see the game?
Big Fish - Where is our New game for today ( Wednesday, we normally get a New Release? Noticed that you changed this game Sale from originally ending Thursday to Now Sunday. Sure hope that your not planning to short us a game due to another holiday! Not Cool!
  • Not as good as the first

I love Mad Head! My only issue was not enough interaction between the characters or scare factor as the first Maze. I may skip this one.
  • Not crazed by this Maze

I will preface this review by saying that when I see a game made by Mad Head Games I expect something special. The plot was simple but easily figured out by the hints given by the surroundings and the characters dialogue early in the game. I found myself wondering when I would get to the end. The repeat visions of the dogs which you repeatedly had to get rid of was not engaging. I found the previous installment of Maze much more interesting. I found this one boring. The HOS were like other games. I found some sound glitches to be annoying. I bought it because of the previous Maze installment but I regret it. I was going to give it 2 stars but bumped it up to 3 stars based on the bonus game. I hope the next installment to be much more engaging with a more challenging plot line.
  • annoying voice, poor animation.

The woman is annoying to listen to. The kid is so poorly animated it is annoying to look at. Everything is way too easy to solve. No original elements anywhere. And that’s just in the free part. I am going to spend my $3.99 elsewhere.
  • Ugh

Way too short of an intro to game. So short.
  • Where's The "Maze" And The Innovation?

If there is one trait that sets Madhead Games apart from their peers, it is, in my opinion, their unique ability to engross me within their inventive storylines. Unfortunately, the gameplay in this sequel is just standard fare for them — as creative as it might be — and doesn't deliver any extraordinary surprises. The concept of tapping into the distorted mind of a character has been visited before; however, Madhead delivers a refreshing way of bringing players into altering worlds of nightmarish realities, as you fight to save a boy whose awareness is trapped in a dangerous illusory state. The atmosphere is enhanced by effective animations. The settings are garnished with outlandish imageries, such as floating islands, to depict a dreamscape-oriented ambiance.

The weight of the scale tips in favor of HOSs — there are more HOSs than there are puzzles. The varied HOSs are cleverly executed, and some implement interactive storytelling techniques. The themes of the puzzles are integrated into the storyline, and the solutions of some will advance your objectives. None of them are overly challenging, but they are entertaining. There are collectibles hidden within both the locations and HOSs.

As I was progressing, I noticed that there is something important missing from this sequel. I do not detect the "maze" concept — which individualized the original game in this series and was also present in its successor — this time around. This plot took a turn towards a dark and sinister supernatural path, away from the more realistically portrayed consciousness I perceived within myself — thus heightening my senses — while exploring the environments in the first two games. I also think the gameplay is too linear and lacks difficulty. All-in-all, I am a bit disappointed; therefore, I rate this game 3 stars.
