Hi toktrance, the app comes with Topo250 maps included. However, if you need more detail please make sure you have downloaded the Topo50 map. To download Topo50 maps you first need to zoom the map out until the huts disappear and you see a light grey overlay. The overlay shows the borders of the Topo50 map sheets. Tap on a map sheet and the sheet name and number will appear at the bottom of the screen with a download button on the right. Ensure you have a good internet connection, then tap the download button to download the Topo50 map for offline use. The download may take a couple of minutes. To show road names on the map, please ensure that the Show Labels setting is turned on in the settings.

Sorry about the frustration nzJDC. To download Topo50 maps you first need to zoom the map out until the huts disappear and you see a light grey overlay. The overlay shows the borders of the Topo50 map sheets. Tap on a map sheet and the sheet name and number will appear at the bottom of the screen with a download button on the right. Ensure you have a good internet connection, then tap the download button to download the Topo50 map for offline use. The download may take a couple of minutes. If the download finishes successfully the download progress screen will dismiss and you will notice that the download button will now be a delete button. Tap the delete button if wish to remove the Topo50 data from your device. If there was a problem during the download only part of the map sheet may be saved. In this case tap the resume button to retry the download. Hope this helps. If you still have problems downloading the Topo50 maps please get in touch so I can fix any faults in the app.
Updated version is great
However, the latest update fixes this and I now recommend the app unreservedly.
