  • Nice To Do Remote Appts

It’s a long story, but I live in VA and my hearing specialist is in Iowa and we use this app to do virtual appts. So far everything has worked well. I am her first virtual patient so it has been a learning experience for both of us, but I’m an IT guy so I can usually noodle my way through any snags. I only have a couple initial suggestions with the first one likely to be a non-issue for most. When I originally got my remote link, something wasn’t quite right and she mailed me a new one. We both connected to the meeting but since I registered the app initially with the other remote link, I had to uninstall the app and redo the setup. It was simple, but it wasn’t clear that’s what I needed to do. Also, it would be better if the patient didn’t have to fully uninstall the app rather just let them synch up the new remote device. The device serial number is what actually directs the Dr and patient to the right meeting.

Secondly, I like to use my iPad and my case only allows me to prop it open in “landscape” mode but when you’re in the app, the camera doesn’t switch so I have to hold the iPad in front of my face the whole time and it moves around because I usually forget I’m holding it.😂 it would be nice if the camera mode would switch. Likely the app was designed only for iPhone and they didn’t figure someone would connect with an iPad I guess.

Other than that the app has worked very well. If they had the camera fixed I’d give it a 5 star rating.
  • Pretty much useless

Even better answer, just expose program the settings in the evoke app so the provider can use those to fine tune the app. Or, let me push the settings from evoke into the device!
