The length of the game is too short for what you pay for.
  • Problems

This is quite a wonderful game. The text adventure is beautiful. Except when I have to close the game and lose all progress that I have accumulated. This has happened several times. I don’t want to delete this game, but I am getting tired of playing the same events over again.

    Developer Response

Hi, thank you for finding my game interesting and I am sorry you experienced issues! Could you please update to the latest version (1.26) and let me know if it’s fixed for you? Thank you!
  • Overall Excellent Quality

Overall: This game was very well put together and I would highly recommend playing it.

Pros: This game is well put together. The story is fast paced and engaging. The tactical combat is interesting and fun and it’s important to remember the strengths and weaknesses of each troop. There are a couple things that are required to be completed towards the end or are harder if you attempt them too soon. Every choice matters greatly. Some choices will be punishing and as a result, you can be denied troops or information or allies. The graphics were very good. If you’ve ever played the Sorcery! games, then you’ll already be familiar with how the choices and story are displayed and progress.

Cons: There were a couple points in the story that I wish went into more depth. I encountered the occasional bug but it was quickly resolved by reloading the app.

Time to Complete: My first run took me 2.4 hours on screen time to complete (including the very occasional save scumming I may or may not have done).
  • So much potential

I paid $2.99 for this game as it looked gorgeous and the backstory was interesting. Needless to say, having a total of 3-4 hours of gameplay put a damper on that. I paid the money as I was looking for a game like the Banner Saga series, and I did not get it. So far I have more hours in a free game and there is no end in sight there. This game has SO MUCH potential, but it can be beat in one afternoon. Hard to replay a game when I just made all these decisions a few hours before and clearly remember the outcomes and consequences. And it’s hard to relive the story and try and make it different when all you can do is recruit the same 3-5 nations to help you by doing 1-2 little missions. I feel like I should have spent 3-4 hours building up the story instead of cramming everything into that. It’s like the short story of story games. I never got attached to Wayward, or the Nameless, or anything/one else in the story as I didn’t even have the time to develop a connection. Tl;dr I love the concept (world, nations, characters, etc.) but it’s way, way, WAY too short and feels rushed the entire time.
