  • Wrong

It’s just wrong, I started with a 9 iron and it said the ball speed was in the 60s. So right of the bat I was skeptical. I then warmed up a bit more then hit a 7iron which the ball speed was avg of 73. I carry my 7 iron 158ish so I knew this was wrong. Then I tried a driver saying my ball speed was 118! I know for a fact this was wrong because I got for for this driver about a year ago and the ball speed was 150 avg and I have been practicing, playing and working out almost everyday for the past year. I’m pretty sure I set it up correctly but maybe you will get better results. 🤷

  • Was working okay…not so much anymore

Had this up and running for a garage setup. Numbers were pretty decent for a cheap app. Within 5-6 yards of my Trackman numbers and club/ball speed were relatively close too.

Not sure if something happened with a software update or what, but the last few weeks of using this I can’t get anything to read indoors or outside. Deleted and downloaded again and still not working. Had to cancel subscription.

Great idea and hopefully it gets some kinks worked out. Market is huge for budget launch monitors.

Hi august west, thanks for taking the time to write a review. It sucks that the app stopped working. Will you please get in touch at support@shotvisionapp.com, there is something we would like to ask you and perhaps get your feedback on. We wish you all the best and hope to hear from you soon. • Not so accurate

I’m setting my phone 4ft behind and two feet in front and it’s giving me horrible readings. Not sure if you need to buy the app to get better reading but I’m out on the range and driving the ball 220yrds everytime and it says I’m driving 150yrds. Same with the irons totally not on par with the yardages. I like the app but do I need to pay for the subscription to get more accurate numbers.

  • Don’t People Follow Directions Anymore?

I took this app out to the range and set it up per the instructions. It registered every shot that I was able to hit through the detection zone. The distances were registering very close to what I know and what I was seeing.

There is a great video that demonstrates how to properly position the iPhone using things you carry in your bag. Watch it first. It’s really not that hard!

  • Not consistently accurate

I am single digit and wanted something consistent accurate. I have a Swingcaddy which is consistently inaccurate by 10-20 yards depending on the club. Not great, but at least it is consistent.

I figured paying $40 was worth trying Shot Vision for a year. Not really.

It took a lot of tinkering around to get anywhere near accurate readings because you can still get a reading by moving it in/out or forward/back. You basically already have to know how far you hit each club, then calibrate SV to it, then do it all over again for the next club. Not worth it for me. Stopped using it after a week.

This is ok for someone who doesn’t want to pay $300 or more for a decent launch monitor and is willing to spend a lot of time calibrating it or doesn’t care about accuracy.

  • Great app! Have an idea though

This is a great app, especially for free, but I have an idea. There should be a friend section, for where you can add friends and see their best shots. You should also be able to invite them to your own tournament and/or challenges to host with your friends, but you creat them and only your friends can join. You could also be able to message your friends too, and other things like that. All in all, a pretty good app.

  • Make the AppleWatch interface available please

UPDATE 5/3/21: The newest iOS update integrates the AppleWatch interface, I’ll be test driving it tomorrow and let you know my findings, but this is a great step on the right direction for user friendly!
    Thanks!
UPDATE: I received an email in regards to my review from the company, great customer service, i gave it one additional Star for the follow up, however the AppleWatch interface is not out yet, so still no 5 stars from me. When they do that they will definitely get 5+ stars. ORIGINAL POST: I liked it initially, however I must say that there are a few things that can and need to improve, such as: Create an interface with the AppleWatch: 1. So the user does not have to pick up the phone every time he needs to see the data captured. 2. So the user doesn’t have to pick up the phone every time he changes clubs. 3. So that the phone can be put in mute to not disturb other players at the range, because the volume would have to be high enough to listen over all the outdoor noise. Every time you pick up the phone and put it back down to have the risk of not setting it correctly. Also, in a range you are so close to one another that it makes it hard and annoying to go back and forward to see your information.

Hi La_Bala, thanks for taking the time to write a review and also for downloading the app, we really appreciate it. An Apple Watch feature is being planned and will be available soon. In the meantime we’ve enabled Siri to communicate your distances and you can even put AirPods or earphones in so you don’t distract any of the other golfers around you. All the best
  • Crashes

App was working well alittle inaccurate at times but it was working fine. Then I tried to delet some of the shots and ever since then the app crashes every time I try to go into the club section on the bottom right of the screen. I have deleted the app multiple times and signed back in and does it every time. And now I can’t change any clubs look at any data and not to sure on how to fix it.

  • I wanted it to work

Paid for 1 month to try it out. Bought today and will unfortunately not renew. Needs works in capturing the data. Like others mentioned picking up and repositioning to make it work for the next club is not worth the hassle. I recently bought the Garmin G80 to use as GPS and launch monitor and don’t feel this is accurate as well. Between the Garmin and the app the carry distance was 60 yards difference. The app generally was the higher distance.

  • Second look

After a good but fair tongue lashing from the my last 1 star review. Was able to hear instructional video (had ringer on silent). Adjusted distance from phone to ball as instructed. Distances still off substantially from my actuals and spin rate is not consistent enough to trust. For the price it is useful to a degree. Gonna give it a few more sessions to see if I can figure it out.
