Alpina smartwatch app is garbage
How do you expect people to use your product? I have been an Alpina fan for a while now and owned multiple Alpina automatic watches. Today I start to question my fandom after attempting to use my smart watch. It’s either the app is garbage or the watch is. I wasted 2 hours trying to pair a stupid watch with an iPhone and it never happened. Sent couple of messages to customer service. No answer. This is unacceptable and should be fixed. If there’s a way for me to give half a star., I wouldShow lesssuffering HSN customer

Wasn’t too happy with the app and watch until I travelled. Dealing with multiple timezones can be a pain when getting off airplanes but the Alpina was so useful when I took my mobile off airplane mode. It also has dual timezones which was helpful when checking the time back home. The step counter is super helpful when you wanna know if you’re moving enough or to determine the amount of sightseeing that’s been done.
The app is very easy to use but it isn’t refreshing as quickly as I’d like. It may log you off frequently which is a pain. The cloud data backup is free and can’t complain about that. The notifications may be handy but the watch isn’t loud enough to take them seriously but if you are looking to spend time away from holding your phone, the push notifications may be helpful. I just wish it was more stable and have regular updates.Show lessShankeekeh

With new update app crashes when trying to open account settings. So unable to log in, change alarms, or change units of measure. Otherwise a good appchriscast724
Swing and a miss
I had such high hopes 4 this time piece. The idea of a semi smart watch coupled with a companion app produce by a known Swiss watch maker seemed like the perfect setup.
The phone app isn’t a companion, the watch frequently looses its way & needs to be reset from the app. There is no way to change the date display to (mm/dd/yy). There is no way to adjust the timer on the watch only through the app. Alarms can not be set through the watch only the app. The time can not even be set on the watch and it frequently looses its programming & defaults to the 10 & 2 positions rendering the watch useless until you find your phone to follow the reset process. Steps can not be displayed on the watch only the app. This reliance on an app is made worse by the completely horrible experience the app offers if you can prevent it from crashing. The app is completely unintuitive & pitiful. Try setting the compass declination, it will not accept any input what a joke. Elevation constantly refuses to read or is reading a completely erroneous figure. No ability to review lap times or split times from the stop watch not even in the crash happy app
Such a marvelous idea by such a renowned company it’s appalling how horrible the execution turned out...
Do yourself a favor instead of dropping $1300 for an iffy watch that always seems to fail at the most in opportune time & buy a Pro Trek PRTB50YT-1 for $300

Doesnt work on iPhone 11 Pro Max
App crashes - not sure if it’s iOS 13.2 or what. But it’s absolutely not useable for about two weeks now.
Update: after two years of aggravation. I sold this piece of trash for a fraction of what I paid. Good riddance. I won’t be picking up any alpina watches at any point in the future.jsschrstrcks
