Not compatible with iOS 13
This needs to be updated for iOS 13. It’s not working since I switched over to it.

Yeah, you definitely need to replace the provided cable with an Apple approved cable. Once you do that, it works like a charm.

Good piece of equipment!
It works well, but I had to troubleshoot the device because for 30 minutes after I downloaded the software, it it just kept saying “searching”. Then I removed the I Phone adapter that came with the product and plugged in an official I phone USB adapter to the device instead of the third party adapter, and it immediately began working . So if you are having that problem then simply find an official I Phone uSB plug adapter, and it will work. Holpe that helps

Suckered
I finally got it to quit searching then figured out suppose to connect to my hotspot but my screen stays black no picture. When press camera it sounds like it’s taking picture but nothing on screen.
Good for price
With regard to other reviews who say that the app is stuck “searching”...be sure the plug is in completely and you will hear a beep. I had to reseat it a few times until it was fully in and then it worked fine.
Image quality is good but you have to adjust brightness and go in the ear far enough to be in focus, and have your angle right.
My one complaint is I can only view the saved images in the app. I can’t find the files on the phone to upload to my EMR like I can if they were saved with cell phone camera photos.
Update: changed to 4 stars. The files do save in the photo section of phone. There was just a delay before they started arriving there. Maybe the app needed to be closed once after I took the pictures?

Otomicroscope camera
Picture color/quality is poor, certainly not sufficient for tympanic membrane diagnosis or middle ear aeration evaluation. The photo in instruction manual or Apple Store advert most likely was taken with fiber optic lens rod or binocular operating microscope, which misleadingly suggests far better resolution than seen with this “otomicroscope camera”.

Awesome!
I don’t know why people are having trouble with this. After receiving it I had it working in couple of minutes with both my iPhone and iPad and it works great! I was able to see my eardrum in both ears in very high-quality and take pictures. Super easy to use and set up.
Doesn’t work
I bought the otoscope from Amazon and downloaded this needed app and it just keeps searching. Cannot use it. Will have to try to return to Amazon. Save your time, frustration and money. Sad thing is you don’t know this until after you bought the unit. I didn’t have the app name.
