  • Good game.

It's a good game but i warn you, This game is not for the weak hearted. ( I'm not a robot...)
  • Not bad at all

    Great stuff

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for letting us know! The non skipable ads were not intentionally but just a misconfiguration. We've already changed that. Please give it a try. :)
  • Good, but...

I don’t keep games installed if they reward you with ads after beating a level.

    Update.
The forced ads have gotten better, but why do they need to be there? How about rewarding ads instead?

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for your feedback! With addressed that with version 1.2. We've decreased the amount of forced ads.
  • It’s prodigy

It’s just prodigy with easy math that will take your money.
I recommend prodigy for grade based math, a fun story tho it can get a little repetitive with the fighting but it’s better than this.

  • Where did my mana go?

Edit 3: Thanks for the developer reply. I did not know that was intentional: The fact that there is no "Later" option, (ie. "I don't want to level up right now") as well as the fact that it says "Level up [2 mana]" makes me assume you get mana (as you often get rewards for levelling up as in most games). Maybe put "Level up [-2 mana]" instead, and keep the mana info box on during the level up screen? So we can clearly see it's being taken away.

Also to note, the talking that comes up shouldn't really cut off mid-sentence. Have it talk one sentence at a time, then we can tap to continue.

Otherwise, thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to more content.

    Original review:

There appears to be an inconsistency with the mana that I have. I'm pretty sure I once had ~80 mana, went to sleep and opened up with only 55.

Edit: Now I have 43. I have figured it out now. Sometimes, when you get given mana, it subtracts it instead. So I should have over 100 mana now. You need to fix this.

Edit 2: THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED, DESPITE THE DEVELOPER RESPONSE. I definitely saw my mana go from 144 to 138 after levelling to level 4.

Yes, because every level up costs mana, you do not gain mana for levelling up. What we have fixed is that it should now be more clearly that a level up costs some mana and we've also dramatically increased the mana drop rate after a battle. :)
  • The greatest video game app with genius epicness

I played this game from the past two weeks and I gotta say, it is pretty great. I really like the concept of having to solve maths question that plain right pops out just to have devastating powers to destroy enemies on battlefield. It is pretty neat.

There are many things to talk about what the pros and cons are based on my experience for this game.

Pros: Good for maths junkies, or geniuses around. Especially when you’re bored and you have nothing to do. I like the fact that you can improve mental maths with some twists of epic themes. Being a sorcerer is pretty daunting but once you get your head around, it becomes more sensical as you play for longer. I like the fact that you have companions that can help you give some extra boosts like providing percentages towards your original stats. Fighting monsters with magic that can measure the amount of power you can gain while having to solve some maths expressions within a time limit.

Cons: I really don’t like the fact that you don’t have mission replays even if you’re still trying to complete the entire story. I get the fact that you don’t have to deal with fighting enemies and still get EXPs, gems, and other items that your companion needs but at least give some thoughts of giving people the opportunity to give improvements on real mental maths calculations. Mathew needs more jokes, his jokes are getting boring. Gameplay seems to be too short. I want to the game to at least have it last for more than one hour, it could be because there’s not enough scrolls (energy) to provide longer gameplay. I really apperciate if you could extend the longer gameplay so that I can really get hooked onto the game itself. I know it can be a real pain but I have to resort to deal with in-app purchases by buying 100 mana points for trying to level up every time, being defeated on stage and restoring or should I say buying 80 scrolls.

Overall, I really like this game. I think it should be a hit for anyone looking for some mathematical activities, even if this is a simple game. I wish that you can give mission replays and longer game-time. Thank you.

    After Completing the game:

So I have managed to complete the game; got all of the stars out of all of the levels, maxed out all of the companions’ levels and wondering if there is a sequel to this game?

I was wondering if there is an additional story after the main game. I already defeated Count Mathula and I’m still waiting for more story missions. I would love to see more of the expansion after the main game, and hoping to have more challenges.

I have found a few jokes that Mathew may like:

    •Who invented algebra? - A clever X-pert.

•Why should the number 288 never be mentioned? - Because it’s two gross!

•Why wasn’t the geometry teacher at school? - Because she sprained her angle.

•Why is a math book always unhappy? - Because it always has a lot of problems.

•What do you call friends who love math? - Algebros.

•How does a ghost solve a quadratic equation? - By completing the scare.

Hope that some of these may be useful and see some new update or two.
    Thanks again.

    Developer Response

Hi Paul, thank you so much for your feedback! We've addressed most of your cons with version 1.2 as you can now replay levels that were completed with 3 stars without even having to invest scrolls. And you'll find mana in every chest and battle loot so it should be easier to buy scrolls with mana. Regarding jokes: There a many math based jokes but only a few that are language independent (the game was translated into various languages). Let us know if you've got any good or dumb jokes and they'll make it into the game! :)
  • Math too simple

I don’t understand why there’s so many complains.
  • Buggy

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for your feedback! With addressed that with version 1.2. The game should not crash anymore.
  • Ads ads ads

Edit: much better than before. Ads are now skippable part way as opposed to how it was before where you had to watch the entire ad. Thanks for fixing this!

    Developer Response

Thank you for updating your review! :)

Honestly a very fun game for people who like maths. Only thing is, after 14 hours of battle I’ve 100%ed the game and have nothing left to do. Would love to see the addition of some more levels or perhaps an endless or high score mode.
