Switched from older app

Bought the older non-au app in error. Refunded by dev/store and immediately deleted the original and bought this - Does exactly what I needed. Great app.

A good auv3 midi arpeggiator

A good arpeggiator step sequencer. Gets updated often.

Aged. Now many apps costing MUCH less offer similar features.

GOOD and EXCELLENT:

***Excellent stability, does not crash.

***Great overall control of the pattern / arpeggio.

***Well designed user interface.

***Excellent velocity adjustment panel with multi touch drawing feature.

***Very useful “beat sync phase” under tempo adjustments.

NOT SO GOOD:

***No multi select for events/notes (only in the form of selecting all, every other, every fourth etc. but not specifically selected notes). This forces tedious event behavior adjustments which have to be done one by one on every event (in addition the boxes in the menu for selecting the events behavior are small).

***The individual rows can’t have pitches loaded as a preset (meaning you can’t quickly assign a scale to all rows’ pitches. ).

***No quick global transposition. Yes, you could transpose the pattern simply by pressing a different piano key but sometimes you want specific keys to be pressed (when using piano keys to base the arpeggio on), also you can transpose pitch of each row in the pattern individually but you can’t quickly do it to all the rows globally.

***Poor internal sounds, no user sounds.

***Confusing currently playing pattern indication (or a bug?). It’s the pattern that is due/next that is flashing, all other patterns are still. It would be easier to spot the current pattern if it was flashing or if there was another indication of the current pattern, such as display of the pattern’s number.

***“Grid edit” under the cog wheel in the top right corner above the pattern window not logical. Some controls apply to all the grid’s rows but “fill all steps” applies only to the main middle row. In addition, selecting “fill all steps” deletes all events in the other rows.

***Has a bug where sometimes changing the rows’ length has no effect on where the rows loop.

***After being opened in a background in a while as idle, when returning to the app it won’t plat the pattern / arp at all. A restart is needed (at least it remembers the state before the restart).

*** Way overpriced

Great arpeggiator, well supported

Every IOS music producer needs a good arpeggiator and StepPolyArp Unit, a polished AUV3 app, is very good. Music producers also need music apps that work reliably, are well supported and frequently updated as the IOS environment changes. Laurent (developer) keeps this app clean, bug free, stable, rock solid and doing what it is supposed to. If you find a bug, send an quick email to Laurent and he will have it fixed and updated in the App Store in a day or two. Excellent programmability, automation and documentation including step by step instructions and pictures on how to set up in various IOS DAWs. StepPolyArp Unit is a great arpeggiator. Use it live or in the studio to build your songs. Bass lines, melodies, polyrhythms, chord progressions, ambient sounds. Works in all IOS DAWs as an auv3 midi plug in. Highly recommended.

Doesn’t do what it says on the tin

This is a nice arp/seq with lots of groovy features, but polyrhythmic it is not.
It’s polymeter.

Welcome additions would be:
Actual polyrhythms
‘As played’ arp pattern and velocity

Amazing

Extremely well made, well thought out app for arpeggios and sequences. This thing handles the bread and butter while opening up possibilities I hadn't even thought of.

Also, I had a support question and the response from the developer was really quick. You get what you pay for folks, and this one's well worth it.

Amazing

I love sound design and mixing, but I am not a musician. By using midi song kits I have been able to find new arrangements to mix, but it can be an expensive endeavor. This app, along with Odesi (for chords, bass, and drum midi), let’s me generate pitch perfect midi tracks in seconds, which I can then voice with the synth of my choice and mix to taste in Cubasis. Thank you to the dev! 🙏🏾

Great Arpeggiator!

Capable of doing just about anything you can think of. Integrates perfectly with Cubasis.

There’s a bit of a learning curve to climb, but the results are worth it. Make sure to read the manual. Tech support is very quick via email from the author of the software.

What a fantastic app

Just updated for IOS 12 issues. So many apps take forever to update when a new OS comes along. That is a very bad thing. I do not buy anything from developers like that. Part of selling software is a commitment to keep it up so the product works longer than a few months. There are developers that have expensive apps that often are not updated for a long time. They make YouTube videos and do other marketing things to get people to buy their stuff and then you don’t hear from them for a year until a paid update comes along. Some of these products are good, but if you can only use them for a month after each update then what’s the use. Steppolyarp works because the developer is cool. He answers emails and listens to criticism and fixes bugs.. I don’t say he does whatever is asked but he communicates. I do music because I have fun with it and part of the fun is dealing with cool developers who care, not businessmen. And all of these music apps should be audio units. There is no excuse because AU is soooo much better in so many ways.
Thanks for an excellent app

Incredible!

Amazing app. Lots of experimental fun to be had using it with various other AU. Only big issue is lack of a regular expanded Piano Roll for the sequencer mode. Pleeeeeeease add this dev! Will be an instant 5 star app if this appears in future.
