I had no problem with the profile setup, or the questions. I don’t even have a problem if they want to exclude me from their platform. I’m not one of these “Christianity should be inclusive, not judgmental” types. I do have a problem with being rejected without being told why or having a legitimate route for appeal. Did they not like the fact that I take a nap after church? Was it unacceptable to have a photo of myself and my step brother laughing while we were in perfectly modest (I was Mark Antony, and he was Les Grossman) costumes at a halloween party? Was my step brother holding a glass with an unidentifiable beverage in it problematic? Who knows, I certainly don’t. Whatever the reason, it’s one and done. If you ask for an explanation, the response is that they will get back to you tomorrow. I think tomorrow is a euphemism for “not before the rapture” in this case. If I do ever get an answer, will I have a chance to bring whatever wickedness they found in my profile into line with their apparently arbitrary and very mysterious standards of what constitutes acceptable content for a Christian dating app? Again, who knows, I don’t. Maybe I need to write a verse of scripture on a scrap of paper, put it in a little wooden box, and strap it to my forehead?
A week and five text messages later, and no response to my inquiries.Show lessGreat app for Christian dating
I really like this app. I feel like the community that it attracts consists of mostly genuine believers looking for their future spouses. I feel like there’s less to have to weed through to find someone who truly loves Jesus and is dating with intention. I also appreciate the heart behind the app, and it’s encouraging to see Bible verses and reminders about how to treat each other throughout the app. They also have a Report button on the messaging tab which shows they’re serious about gate keeping and just makes it feel safe to me. I don’t love the questions and character limits for profile answers. The messaging feature is also pretty basic. You can’t start threads on messages or react to them. I have no doubt that they will improve these things in time. I downloaded two dating apps at the same time, and this is the one I’m recommending to people. Customer support are also really kind real people which is nice. There is also a built-in intentional pause with a scripture as if the app is reloading every so often when you’re looking through matches. For me, it’s a really nice time for me to consider if I want to keep going or take a break. It’s kind of like the Netflix continue watching message. You sure? Ha. overall, I can tell that there’s a lot of intentionality and care that went into the design of this app and the vision for this community.Show lessNot a good experience
