  • About the game

This game is super hard but it’s very helpful. My phone always turns off because the game Hass to be on. I really like this game but sometimes it can be bad. I think it should be 12+ or 9+4 year olds will get mad and maybe break their phone for it
  • Good app but

Wish it could send notifications when unlocking your phone and have a feature where it’s on the lock screen like the timer app.
  • It works - clever idea, well executed

This sounds like some kind of self-promotion but it definitely isn’t. I really have tried quite a few different app-blocker apps and quite a few highly rated or promoted ones are no longer working, unavailable on the App Store or very buggy, or they are too easy to work-around.

This app seems to work really well for Apple because it doesn’t actually block your apps or try integrate with Screentime/ downtime, it puts an annoying ad on the front of your screen (yes you do need to keep the app open before locking your phone) and then if you do try use your phone and switch apps it bugs you with notifications - a very effective deterrent.

The bug mentioned in a previous review about not allowing incoming phone calls has been fixed - if someone calls me, even on Teams, it gets through, even if the app is in ‘active’ mode.

I’m on the free version still because I’m not sure how well my will power will withstand having an emergency button available but can definitely see the appeal, and it’s a one-off payment instead of a subscription which is great.

    Well done to the developer.

Hey Shnippers! I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying the app! The goal of the app was to make it as simple as possible for people to get off their phone and stay focused, I'm really happy to hear that's been a success for you. So with premium there is the emergency off button, but there is also a setting to limit the amount of emergency offs (breaks) you can do in a session. You can set this to 0 and it won't allow you to take any breaks during a session, the setting also can't be changed mid session meaning you can't cheat it. Feel free to email me if you have any ideas on a better way to implement the emergency off limit, or if you have any other suggestions. The email is GetOffYourPhoneApp@gmail.com Thanks, -Daniel
  • Works great

You get little messages telling you to get off your phone so you don’t get distracted and it does that until you do get off your phone👍👍👍👍
  • Lacks functionality

I bought the premium, the emergency shut off doesn’t stop the timer it just stops the notifications. If you need to reset your time count for any reason you have to wait until the previous timer is finished. So if you put a timer for an hour and have to stop it for any reason it won’t stop and after the 5 minutes emergency shutoff it’ll start sending notifications non stop lol

Hello AhsunSK, the emergency off button is designed for just a temporary break in case of an actual emergency. I designed it so that once you turn on the timer you have to commit to being off your phone for the entirety of it. I didn't want people to be able to give in to the temptation of using their phones by just cancelling the session completely. If you have an idea of how I could implement this feature better I'd love to hear from you at GetOffYourPhoneApp@gmail.com -Daniel
  • Good but one strange thing

It’s a good app and it works but uuuumm it calls me John Doe and I have no clue who that is my name is Elodie.?!
  • Restrictions are not strong enough

The notification stops after a while. The scheduled sessions also would not start automatically. Instead, you have to confirm for each session. As a tool to help people from being addicted to their phones this app really is too gentle to be helpful.
If would be better if the notification could not be turned off, and act like an alarm bell when the user exists the app. Furthermore, the scheduled sessions should start automatically without the need to confirm. To be honest, people using this app are not paying just for an alarm bell, asking them to put down my phone at specific time...... This app really can be more helpful so it’s a pity to find out that this is all it has got.

  • It won’t shut up

I got it to start being more self aware about just how much I’m on my phone but everytime I start the timer and set my phone down to study, it decided to start blowing my phone up and it wouldn’t stop. I put my phone on silent but the vibration still made noise and my screen still lit up. I’m also not sure why my music stopped playing a few times while the timer was in use.

  • Allow stopping a running timer

    To the developer:
I really like the idea. Downloaded the app immediately. I know your objective is to help me stay off my phone. However, your objective must also be to keep your app installed on my phone. If I can’t stop a running timer without uninstalling the app, how does that help you?
  • Really useful

Great idea. Simple to use and uncluttered. Finding it very helpful.
