A Solid Survival Horror Experience

It’s hard to come across actual horror titles on mobile so I’m happy to find them when I can. Overall this is pretty good for what it is. Controls and gameplay are very well done and had some effort put into them. I do wish the monster encounters weren’t so repetitive and simple but it could be far worse. Happy I gave this a try. Hope more people come across it as it deserves far more ratings.

Great visuals but story left me wanting more

I downloaded this game on a whim since pixel art and horror stories are both my jam. In regards to visuals, I was not disappointed. The lighting and environment are beautiful and wonderfully detailed despite the pixelated style. The “closer examination” artwork is also nicely stylized without detracting from the ominous atmosphere.

My only issue, which is a rather large one for me, was with the story itself. Obviously I don’t want to spoil anything, but there were aspects about the plot that just didn’t seem to make sense in the light of the final conclusion, and overall it felt pretty lackluster and uninspired. There was nothing shocking or surprising and by the end of it I felt like I had had so many clues as to the conclusion that I was just ready for it to be over.

Overall, this wasn’t a bad game, but at the end of it I wasn’t exactly happy for having spent money on it either.

I’m in love

This game is probably one of the best point and click games I’ve ever played. The ending was unexpected but great, and I don’t think I would have seen it coming by the way the protagonist interacts with her friend. 10/10!

To quick not enough puzzles

Game to short, lacking depth in puzzles. Completed far to quickly, expected more for the price.

Doesn’t even open. Absolute crap!

Enough said. For the price I’d expect better.

Properly creepy mystery

This is a really fun creepy game, lovely artwork, good story and runs very smoothly on my phone and the music - plus the snarling in moments of peril really rack up the tension. A great example of 8bit horror.

Good scares, great story, solid puzzles, excellent value

Worse Than Death is a focused 2d stealth horror game with puzzles thrown in using a great blend of both beautiful hand drawn and pixel art. It’s really a game to go in completely fresh storywise. The telling of this mystery is super well done and compelling and a huge source of momentum in the game. Suffice to say, if you love the X-files, Stranger Things, Twin Peaks, Silent Hill, and small towns full of dark secrets, you’ll LOVE this. Music and sound design are top notch - atmosphere is crazy thick. Also game works fantastic on my SE - no issues. 100% recommend.
