Wonderful, but…

In concept it’s a handy and useful concept. Being able to track the bus is a valuable tool when scrambling around in the morning especially with multiple kids and times. The app regularly has issues and is down or forgets that the students trips are scheduled so we have to stop and reset often. Being able to see the route including stop locations may be a useful feature that is not available. Overall a useful tool that needs some work

Worst Bus Tracking App Ever – Totally Useless

If I could give zero stars, I would. This app is a complete disaster. The whole point of Edulog is to track buses, right? Well, it can’t even do that! My bus NEVER shows up on the tracker, and I’m left guessing when it’s going to arrive. It’s not like students and parents rely on this information or anything, right? Total joke.

And the bugs – where do I even start? The app crashes constantly. It barely opens half the time, and when it does, the schedules are completely wrong. It’ll say the bus is arriving at 7:30 when it actually shows up at 8:00. Or worse, the screen just stays blank like it doesn’t care.

Oh, and thanks for the middle-of-the-night notifications that tell me NOTHING useful. But when there’s an actual bus delay? Silence. Absolutely worthless.

I’ve spent more time refreshing this app than actually getting any information from it. It’s slow, it lags, and it’s about as helpful as a dead battery. Edulog, fix your app or take it down, because right now, you’re just wasting everyone’s time.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD.

Great in theory

The app doesn’t reload well, sometimes everything comes up blank forcing you to close it and reopen it and again waiting to see if it will load correctly.

The alert radius feature is great and I like that you can make it different shapes but having to set it up for each child is cumbersome.

A copy settings feature would be amazing. Or having it automatically carry over for all students unless the person chooses to manually change it for each.

Notifications are where I struggle. It’s incredibly time consuming to set the alerts you want, again because you have to do it for each and there are a couple different places notifications can be set. No matter what my settings, I get alerts for everyone or none of them. One day notifications just kind of stopped so I had to uninstall and reinstall the app (after trying other fixes) requiring me to re-do all the settings, so I gave up.

When the tracking is working; it works phenomenally. If you have the ability to watch the map, it’s beneficial there.

Useful but definitely needs some updates

I’ve been using this app for the last three years because of the school district that I am in. I have two kids on the school bus. Currently one that I have to drop off to School. When all three of my kids were using the school bus in our district. It worked OK but my only issue with this is that it doesn’t give any updates. If there was a substitute driver using a different bus so I’m literally having to wait either outside looking for the bus or my kids are going to school super late.

I really think that there should be a way to update it. If there is a substitute, Bus Driver, especially since we don’t really get notifications of there being a sub bus driver until the day off.

And there should be an update of some of how to fix these glitches because sometimes it shows the buses all the way on the other side of the water in a different country. Other times. It shows the bus being somewhere completely different and not being in the area close by my house when it’s actually two minutes down the street. Other glitches that I’ve noticed is that sometimes it’ll show that I have no students on the bus, even though I have two that rise of us currently and I really think there should be an update if the bus is going Late instead of the designated drop off off and pick up times.

Thought it was great, until it randomly stopped working.

When my school system rolled this out, I was optimistic. With a shortage of school bus drivers, the bus stop issues were a daily frustration. My daughters waiting for over an hour, getting late to school often, and my having to rearrange my work schedule just to get them to school was just too much. At first I thought the app was a godsend. I could see how far away the bus was and avoid my daughters waiting in the rain or for extended periods of time unnecessarily. Granted, it the notifications only worked for one of my daughters but since they take the same bus, it was fine. Well, 2 days ago, it stopped tracking the bus and I received no notifications. My daughters missed the bus and I had to drive them to school…AGAIN and late. I deleted the app and redownloaded but still, it doesn’t work. Also, I suggest incorporating a “remember me” option when logging in.

Absolute trash

There are constant technical difficulties with this app that prevent school district staff from communicating correct route schedules to parents. (Example - They’re telling me now to just add 20-25 minutes to the scheduled pickup time in the app because they can’t change the stop times.) The GPS feature never works, so we can’t tell where the bus is. The entire interface is clunky and awkward to use. Half the time when I log in, it says I have no bus riders, and I have to log out and log back in to fix the problem. It’s a very amateur effort, and it angers me to think about how much money my kids’ school district must be paying to use it.

In the latest version of the app, there is more flexibility in creating alert zones. In addition to a circular zone, you can create a custom polygon alert zone with up to 3, 4, 5, or 6 sides. Maybe this will improve your experience with the app. Feel free to contact us at support@edulog.com or visit our help page for more information: https://www.edulog.com/parent-help/

Worthless

This app is the most useless thing I have had to use in a while. It’s faulty, it’s misleading, and basically just a waste of time and space on my phone. I have to re-add my kids multiple times a week because it will just show as if there are none to track. It only adds a message in the app when the bus is nearby but doesn’t alert my phone. If I’m not in the app all morning then I get nothing. The pick up times are wrong. I have two kids that the pick up time is close enough that he’s fine (it’s only off by approximately 4-5 mins) but I have a middle schooler that the pickup time is way off. His bus frequently is between 20 & an hour and 20 mins late. Then there is the fact that every other day it tells me that my bus can’t currently be tracked by GPS. What?! How is that even a thing if I am supposed to be using this app? Do better edulog bc this isn’t it.

Super Helpful!

This app has been super helpful. There are occasional bugs and glitches and of course when you come to rely on something that can be really frustrating. That being said the majority of the time the app works great. I just downloaded the most recent update and hope it’s even better.
I find the ability to customize the alert radius very helpful. I also like the feature of being able to set alerts of when the bus arrives to school. As a parent of a special needs student this is just an added layer of protection to ensure things are running smoothly.

Overall could it be better maybe? It appears they are working on fixing bugs but as a whole this is an extremely important and useful tool.

Great App!

Our school system has used multiple products and this is the best one. From a parent of 3, spread out over decades, this app is amazing. As an IT professional who has worked for software development businesses the rigor and testing that goes into the features and additions made are understood. More documentation or a training video would be helpful. The UI is fairly intuitive but could be buffered with an FAQ or tutorial.

Borderline useless

UPDATE: The developers added a feature that allows you to customize the shape of the alert zone which makes the app far more useful. I still see “GPS is currently unavailable for this bus” too often for my liking (not sure if this is because of the app, though), and every now and then the app tells me I don’t have any kids riding the bus, which is objectively wrong (logging out and back in fixes the problem, but it’s still annoying). And I’m standing by my comment that EduLog is a bad name for an app that tracks school buses.

Almost every day, I get a message that “GPS for this vehicle is currently unavailable.” So, on paper, this app is a good idea - I’d love to be able to see where the bus is in real time - but in reality it doesn’t work consistently. The circular alert radius feature is stupid, too…I don’t need to know how far away the bus is in miles since it doesn’t take a straight line to the bus stop once it enters the alert radius. It would be way more useful if the app told me how many stops away the bus was. You can change the center of the alert radius by changing the pickup address, which sort of helps, but then the app resets the pickup address every day, so I have to mess around with it to fix it. Oh, also, the name is stupid. It’s a good idea, but very poorly executed.
