Not what I expected, not for me.
The presentation is great, but I just don’t find the mechanics fun.
It’s a weird and fairly limited ordering puzzle disguised as a card game that’s disguised as a.. honestly I’m not sure what it is, but if you’re a fan of CCGs like Hearthstone or card-based roguelikes like Slay the Spire - well, this doesn’t really seem to be any of those things and you’ll probably be disappointed.
Each encounter gives you a new ‘deck’ which consists of 3 pairs of cards. Each card will be drawn in order, and each card has a left/right option.
The ‘deck building’ consists of a puzzle where you choose how 3 pairs of cards will be drawn (1st and 4th, 2nd and 5th, or 3rd and 6th), and then whether you pick left or right each turn. Choose wrong, and you’ll draw in the wrong order and your deck won’t work.
Very limited and not a very fun way of thinking when it comes to card games.
