Pay to Play & Awful Social Environment

I don’t know how to adequately describe how terrible this game is overall. It is a pay to win game. There is no iteration of gameplay someone could succeed without spending real money in this game. The previews of the game are nothing like the actual gameplay. The social aspect of this game is absolutely not something appropriate for people. The level of negativity and rude behavior towards others is shocking and should be addressed. I’ve never interacted in real life with anyone who would behave or act out in ways the majority of the players do. And that is the biggest disappointment. If you are playing this game and believe you are not playing alongside individuals who aren’t despots, I’m positive you have played in nations where there are more than not. This game is everything wrong with social media and an example of what happens when people don’t care about anyone and need to go outside and be in real life, meet real people and be alive. I’m sure this review will be ignored, but I hope someone will see it. I’m not a new player, but I’m done with. There are countless videos and commenters who have already stated this and more. I wish I had seen those before playing this, and been of a mind to accept them. It is not a good game. I think it’s intentionally designed to be addictive and time consuming.

Lies, prevarications, and half truths

Can’t recommend. 1. Extremely pay-to-play. Sure, you CAN play free… but you will lose battle after battle and you’ll keep hitting difficulty walls which require significant improvement. 2. Little to no customer support. 3. Toxic players. 4. Rude, toxic players. 5. The ads keep claiming it’s a “Tower Defense” (TD) game. Not entirely a lie… you can do 2 whole TD runs a day. The vast majority of the game has absolutely NOTHING to do with ANY of the ads. Bait and Switch. I can share one tip - the base garage can upgrade units built in one of the barracks/factories. So, if you build entry level units, then shift them to the garage, you can then build current top tier units in the barracks & factories while the garage converts the garbage units into primo ones! It’s a way of indirectly adding another development pipeline. There just isn’t much to recommend re: a game that is just a standard zombie-themed mobile RTS. Especially if you are free/cheap -to-play. There are other RTS games with a similar theme… as well as actual TD elements.
UPDATE: They continue to spawn various ads years later, all showing supposed gameplay… yet all different. Be warned: this game is one of the kings of the fake game ad market. Thanks for reading. If you agree that this trend has no place in gaming, please mark this a helpful, then leave your own one star rating! It only happens because we let it!

Be aware of what you are getting into…

This doesn’t end well. In summary you are forced to give up the city you have spent a lot of time and money creating. And you will need to spend a lot of money …

The game starts off easy and it is attractive to play. You make quick progress and then once you get to a certain level it starts to chip away with costs which grow month by month. Because you have spent time getting to this point you feel it’s a waste to stop and the costs are low to begin with which keeps you going. Then they grow further and because you have already spent money it feels a waste of all the time and money you have spent so far to stop. You are not forced to spend but be aware at some point you will have to retire from the game. One final thing - there is a war once per month that if you don’t spend money shielding against you will be attacked and lose your soldiers wasting the money you have spent to date. You have no choice but to participate. If you miss it by accident then tough. Eventually the game forces you out as the (much) higher spending players attack you to a point where you can’t grow and defend yourself so you have to leave. The game does this by merging worlds until the highest spending players dominate.

Illegal advertising

You know exactly what your ‘agency’ is advertising. A game that’s false. It’s false advertising which is illegal. Look how many complaints you have about the game being advertised falsely. The only thing you have done is take the same ‘agency adverts’ off your AppStore page. But you have left the false images instead. Don’t reply to this comment stating you are unaware of what the agency adverts are displaying or that some of it is representation of the game. It should say “NOT INGAME FOOTAGE” if you advertise like this. No one believes you that you don’t know these adverts are out there. Especially as they used to be on your AppStore preview section. Imagine the uproar if a big name like call of duty did a tv advert and didn’t put the text “not in game footage” on their adverts. It’s a scam your running. Getting people to download the game based on a false advert and then them actually spending money on it to see if they can get some of the features advertised in the advert. Sort it out. And no I’m not emailing that inbox when I see an “inappropriate advert” you know where they are… and you know what they are….

Some of the game advertisements made by our agency will have a certain amount of artist interpretation of the game’s actual gameplay. We will continue to strengthen the review policy of the agency, but there must be somethings that we have missed. If you see any inappropriate ad content, please report it by email: aoz@camel4u.com.

Cheaters and scammers! Do not give card information!

This game has no place to report hateful players and cheating. There is a entire network of players making money in the game from farms. They are cheating the other players. There is actually no game here, just some cool graphics and a grab for cash that even the players in the game have found ways to manipulate and rip you off also. I have been trying for weeks to connect with support, there is none. Games like this should be illegal, not sitting here with this many downloads looking for another victim. Do not give players information to buy rss! I did not do this but saw many players being scammed and they declare endless war trying to get players to spend more. This App has to be the biggest scam still running I have ever seen online. Literally a whole gang of criminals playing the game laughing that there is no support to stop them. Let alone the hate speech aloud! If you decide to download the game, I suggest not joining a alliance. The game scams you enough, but once you start that part of the game the thieves come from everywhere.

Update: I have contacted in game support multiple times to report illegal behavior and it was ignored and the problem continues.

It’s a money pit

Update: Camel games’ use of pay to play has gotten so extreme that players in War and Order are on strike. We are not spending on game until Camel makes wholesale changes to make the game less expensive to grow a castle and play is fun again. Camel produced some low hanging fruit changes and offered some better packs to entice spending. We are holding firm on our commitment to not spend. There are strike breakers but majority of the big spenders are holding firm. If you’re playing any camel games consider joining the spending strike. You’ll be helping yourself in the long run. June 2024. #FixWAO.

Build up your castle for free until you grow impatient and start spending. You think you’re not going to spend much and then you see your cc bill. Working against you is tapping all the freebies. It’s subtle training for spending. Don’t believe me? Good luck. BTW, I’m a USA player and the pack prices are different by country. The WaO packs cost a lot less than they do in the AtoZ game for USA players. The chinese players pay the least. That’s not fair at all. I was contacted to update my review because developer responded. The response is cookie cutter PR garbage. I changed my review from 2 stars to 1 and frankly think this is a zero star ripoff game. Reverse the sort feature so you can read all the 1 star reviews. They say the same things I have. This game is rigged to entice you to play and make you spend. If you’re easily addicted, run!

Fun and Can Expensive

CMD777, Nation 1098. This is an alright application. It’s a 100% sever based game with many events built into the game that make it interesting. You get to play with people all over the world and it is fun to interact. A lot of time is spent attacking other cities, killing mutant zombies, and doing other daily quests. The one thing to beware of is it can be very costly, if you want to stay competitive. Many players will spend lavishly to upgrade and build very strong cities quickly. Unless you’re willing to spend to keep up, you will end up just slowly building and being destroyed by stronger opponents. It takes a fair amount of time (or money) to rebuild and begin fighting again. Because of this I removed my links to accounts and deleted the application. I found no meaning in spending so much time to rebuild something that can be destroyed so easily. I also wasn’t willing to spend hundreds to thousand of dollars to maintain with the big spenders. I joined all of the events regularly and did get many items to help build. I never missed them each week. I tried to help out my alliance as much as possible by joining alliance events. These also brought in items to help build and develop. However, the events and alliance activities were still not enough to keep up with the big spenders.

Poker machine for kids

This game is a poker machine in disguise for kids and adults. All I want to do is play the side missions but it makes you build this stupid town which nobody wants to do. The worst part is is that the game steals your resources from you when you’re just Tryna mind your own business and upgrade to the next level, so you can play the next round of side missions. It’s always trying to sell you stuff not only that it annoyingly makes you quick to harvest stuff which means you have to login regularly and when you do login you sometimes find out that all your resources have been depleted for no reason. This game is very addictive best to stay away.

The game is fun but

So the game started out as really fun. However, there are these alliances with members that are around 30-60 years old. They would talk rude to any player who are either not wanting to join their alliance, or not wanting to be in the 1 alliance rank, and pretty much start wars with others in the nation chat. They would call people worthless, insignificant, and useless if they don’t want to join or voice out how very toxic they’ve become. They don’t like it and so they tell those people that they are insignificant and to go away. Which cause a massive new players to leave the game. Another problem is how the alliance leader doesn’t try to stop these people from acting out. They encourage the player’s behavior. No one is really playing the game but instead making wars and conflict. I still love this game and will continue. But these people I suggest those that aren’t 18+ to be careful. These people and their words with action can cause anyone to feel depressed.

Also, the alliance leaders would ask you to make like 5 other accounts. It’s impossible to keep up and they claim that they aren’t asking much. But the account can only hold 2. So you’ll have to download the game and go through the tutorial 5 more times! It’s ridiculous. Also, lost so much money cause of this game. Many of the alliance players don’t really care if you are trying to save. They pressure you to buy more in app purchases. If you don’t have a high paying job don’t get this game

Has potential

I have been playing this game for a few months now, and really still don’t fully understand the whole thing. At times it seems way too complicated for a mobile game. So many different power ups that I have no clue how they even benefit the game play, and very little explanation of each. Every time something new is unlocked and explained, I forget something else. Upgrades and power ups could be made much simpler. As far as trying to advance, it is quite frustrating to send troops out to gather resources, taking a very long time to complete their task, meanwhile another online player raids your base, and drains all of your resources, and yet somehow your defense wall shows very little sign of damage. So what is the point of spending all of those resources and time to build it up just so it can be passed over? In my humble opinion, while I like playing the game at times, it could be simplified quite a bit, focusing more on strategy and interaction. These over complex power ups and irrelevant side games don’t contribute anything to the game play or entertainment.
