Serious issues suddenly
I’ve been using this app for over a year now and loved it enough to go through with purchasing the subscription. Previously, I’ve had no issues with the app and love that even all of my Asian shows are included for me to track. However, the last few weeks I can barely get the app to work. It won’t save after I go in and track a show until I’ve had to redo it two or three times, it won’t acknowledge it when I mark off a new episode as watched and just freezes with the green checkmark on the screen and even pulling down to reload the homepage isn’t working anymore. UI is a little clunky in places, but app does what it says!
Adding shows and marking them as watched is easy. Watchlist and My Shows are clear an concise.
Swipe action, to mark a show as watched, is a little jarring.
Keyboard obscures lowest set of shows when searching.
Notifications don’t take your timezone into account so they are always early for me on the west coast, I have them set for 1 hour before show, and I get them in the middle of the afternoon.
Content in at the top of the Discover tab never seemed to change even as I added more shows. I wasn’t really interested in the suggestions. I cleared them out, and now it’s gone (no more suggestions).
My biggest complaint is that there are some shows missing or with bad data. Support gives instructions on how to find the show in TV Maze, the DB Hobi uses for shows. One show shows up in Hobi but with bad data (no thumbnail, no episodes listed). Other shows are in TV Maze but not in Hobi. Hobi’s support says to “send us an email” for that case. That is where I’m stuck. I can’t find an email address, and I can’t get into the support portal, when I try to sign up/sign in, I get to a page that says “You are not authorised to access this portal. Kindly contact your helpdesk administrator.” With no instructions on how to do that. Feels a little like an intentional dead end.Show lessExcellent
OK, I have a streaming addiction. And it was a mess. I don’t like to binge; I like to watch several shows at once, and we could never keep track (partially because we share some of our streaming services, so our TV never showed the right episode). Or we’d start a show and like it but then forget about it for weeks This has made our TV viewing so much more seamless. It’s easy to use with a nice, clean Interface.Show less
