  • Be different!!!!!

I appreciate that the app provides conjugations with verb tenses, just like all the other apps out there. However, I noticed a significant gap in allllllll of these apps: the absence of the actual English translations alongside the conjugated verbs. Including translations would make it much easier to understand and memorize the tense conjugations. For instance, in the future tense section, it would be beneficial to see phrases like "I will speak" or "you will speak" directly paired with the corresponding conjugations. This simple addition would greatly enhance the learning experience. Currently the user has to memorize what each tense means in order to know what the word in each tense category means. Please make this easier for us!!!

No other apps offer this feature, so I encourage you to differentiate your app by implementing it. It could significantly improve usability and effectiveness for users. Thank you for considering this suggestion!

And when you make this insanely simple change…. I will change my rating to 5 stars because you will have a feature that I cannot find in any other apps

  • Very good; wishing for a bit more

Easy to use and customize right from the start! Two things I’d like to see: first, I find it odd that reflexive verbs aren’t in the app. Some of the translations are inaccurate without being reflexive and I worry about drilling in bad habits I’ll need to unlearn.

Second, I *really* wish that there was an option to conjugate from the English translation instead of/in addition to “infinite + [verb tense]”. While practicing verb drills I find it’s very easy to slip into autopilot mode, pattern-matching conjugations with the tense, without feeling like I’m truly internalizing the meaning of the conjugated verb. (As a B1 speaker this is the hump I’m trying to get over: I can conjugate correctly as a purely grammatical exercise, but esp. when listening I’m more or less only recognizing the infinitive root and guessing at the meaning from context). It would be way more valuable to prompt, say, “he would have eaten,” “we shall listen,” “I was talking,” &c. It would make this app indispensable!

The developers have noted from other reviews that adding example sentences is an almost impossible undertaking—that I understand. But, integrating just the English verb table translations would make this app so much more powerful! Hope to see it in the future.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the review! Managing reflexive and non-reflexive verbs together was a bit tricky since their translations often depend on subtle context (like "comer" vs. "comerse"). So, I excluded most of them, with some exceptions for reflexive-only verbs like "quejarse." Currently, I'm working on an update that will include some tense explanations and possibly verb usage examples too. So, adding grammar reference materials to the app is now the top priority. Cheers! —Ivan
  • Nifty little app/game for learning verbs!

I only downloaded (and upgraded) this sweet little app a week or so ago, but it’s already shot to the top of my favorite Spanish language learning apps. Knowing which verbs are irregular is so important for mastering Spanish. I love that I can control how many verbs it drills me on and in which tenses. This allows me to focus on the particular tenses that we’re studying in class at the time. The more I dig in the settings, the more great features I find. What a fun tool for such an important learning goal. So worth the very affordable $5.99! Thank you, ConJuGato!

P.S. I’m using it daily over the summer so I won’t fall behind now that classes are out.
