Nice if you could store everything on one a cloud based server

Some apps store things on one drive or google docs and that would really improve the app

Requires signing up for an account

I don’t feel comfortable when app developers force you to use their server to sync your personal data. Why not let users choose where to sync their data - Apple, Dropbox, or the many other options.

Response from developer

Hi! We're sorry for the inconvenience. We did use Dropbox and iCloud previously but we also had problems with them - they were never 100% successful for all of our users. On Dropbox we had challenges with duplicate entries appearing in journals. On iCloud, we had problems with data loss. When things went wrong, these two systems were beyond our control. With our own service, we can quickly respond to changing needs and bugs that might arise. Here are some articles you could check if you want more information about the sync feature and the solutions we provide to protect our customers' data. https://bit.ly/2N7lw7Y; https://bit.ly/2KvlvbC. I like but...

I like the layout but I think you should give the possibility as per old app to do a one time purchased, people is sick to have hundreds of subscriptions and without apple pencil is useless

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. The subscription model is also an important decision for us...We knew it would definitely affect some customers but more importantly, it can help us to provide better service for the customers who consider keeping a diary as a lifelong habit, which is exactly we are determined to do. Thanks so much for your understanding!

Why

Yet another app that doesn’t warrant a subscription.

Loved it before but now?

*DELETED*

Added after dev response: Repeat, does not warrant a subscription. Will not subscribe. Bye.

Response from developer

Hello! Grid Diary 2 adopted the subscription model. This decision will help us to develop the app in the long term. And it will also help us to provide better service to the people who consider keeping a diary as a lifelong habit. Thank you so much for understanding.

Outstanding improvements

This is (now) the No 1 app I would recommend for productivity focused journaling.

It can be easily setup to capture:
- personal agile methodology
- bullet journaling
- habit journaling

An outstanding new release. Delivering 98% of the capabilities & options i had wished the original version could do (but didn’t)

Successful building upon the analytical capabilities I loved of the original:
- multiple modular (bespoke) templates
- being able to look for behaviour trends
- clean, minimal aesthetic

And adds a whole other level (or two) of functionally into the mix, which I used to have to build into the experience manually by juggling too many templates.

This latest offering must have been designed with productivity journaling needs firmly in mind.

Hi! Thank you so much for your support! We are currently completing the Classic's feature in Grid Diary 2 and we expect they can be finished in April. Please stay tuned on the future updates!

Pricey

Great layout. Would enjoy using it. But it’s not worth the $20+ mark per year. Classic was a great buy and this upgrade isn’t that much different (other than the weekly, month, year option - a request I put in for classic).

Response from developer

Hello! Besides different dimensions of the timeline, Grid Diary 2 also has other new features compared to the Classic version, which can better help the people who consider keeping a diary as a lifelong habit. For more details, you can check our website (griddiaryapp.com). Grid Diary 2 adopted the subscription model. This decision can help us to develop and maintain it in long terms and provide a better service to our users. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Good, but...

Good:
- A life management journal all in one place!

But:
- Perpetual payment is off putting.
- So much going on. Wasn’t the idea of the grid to keep it short, sweet and simple?
- I just bought the original grid diary, and now I’m buying it again, only perpetually?

Thanks, but no thanks.

Response from developer

Hi! Grid Diary 2 does have a lot of differences going on comparing to Grid Diary Classic. These changes are made based upon our research and observation of our users' needs. We are hoping that Grid Diary 2 can upgrade into a self-growth system - more than a simple diary tool. We are still trying our best to strike a balance between simple and powerful features. I'm really sorry if we haven't achieved this yet, but we will definitely improve the user experience in the future upgrades.

Grid Diary Classic

I like the new layout on this app but this is ridiculous! i can not find a way to sync my old diary information with this new one AND now i have to pay for a membership? i had already payed for premium on ‘classic’ but now i cant transfer over any of those existing features, this WAS my favourite app and i used it daily but not anymore :(
