One minor update. Two settings have been added to give you absolute control over 48kHz / 44.1kHz operation. If you have a new 48kHz device and the pitch of the audio is consistently off you can override our algorithm and force an internal synthesis rate of 48kHz. Do this in Settings by setting both 'Force Synthesis Rate' to ON and setting 'Synthesize 48kHz' to ON. Synthesis can be similarly forced to 44.1kHz by by setting 'Force Synthesis Rate' to ON and setting 'Synthesize 48kHz' to OFF. If Force Synthesis Rate is off our internal algorthm will run to try to determine what frequency is best for your hardware and environment.

63 just became 65! A new category of voice, "Bonus" just appeared, and we will continue to drop new voices in here over time, 100% free of charge! The first two are the gorgeous Rhodes Piano - now in tune! - and the heavenly Harp Arpeggios. A couple of minor issues have been dealt with. The 'Harry Piano' and 'Harry Open Trombone' samples suffered technical problems resulting in crackling noise, that has now been fixed. A few of the more wayward voices have been pulled into tune, as best we can given these historic tapes, and without breaking that drifty 'ghostly musicians floating around in the afterlife' feeling that makes mellotrons so unique. Enjoy, and make GREAT music!!

This brings in a few fixes. The pitch on modern (native 48kHz) devices should be good, whether or not connected via Audiobus or IAA. A handful of voices, in particular some of the ‘Harry’ tapes, have been repitched by a few tens of cents to make them more consonant with the others - 3 violins is now very sweet mixed with M300B for example. Tap to centre on controls is now in place, inherited fro Sopranotron 2, and the in-app help has been improved.

The best mellotron for iOS just got much better. * A bug in MIDI channel selection was fixed * The AudioBus / IAA system was rewritten from the ground up to adhere to SDK 3.0.6 best practises * A second LED was added to the display to indicate when the device has detected 48kHz operation * The hidden 'global tuning' option was disabled as it was causing headaches * The 'historic temperament' has been exposed in settings - now when you play Bach on your Tron it omes out the way it was meant to sound A 'restore factory settings' option has been introduced in settings.

Description of Mellotronics Streetlytron '63

The Streetlytron '63 Edition : genuine Mellotronics for your iPhone and iPad. Brought to you in partnership with Streetly Electronics, the inventors of the mellotron, Streetlytron includes a massive collection of 63* tapes from Streetly's Production Masters - exactly the same tapes that ship with their $8,000 M4000 unit. Playable with the on-screen 3 octave keyboard or by an attached MIDI controller, Streetlytron exposes every internal control to MIDI, allowing performance and recording without ever needing to touch your device. A gorgeous, silky-smooth, ultra-musical reverb unit generates immense spaces, and 8 programmable preset slots set you up for one-touch performance. Totally playable and totally inspiring, for everything from classic psychedelic, vintage progressive, modern chamber pop or avant-garde dance sounds. Virtual MIDI and AudioBus, with Inter-App Audio support provided by AudioBus. No In-App Purchases, no hidden extra costs. Pay once, never pay again. To keep this remarkable app as small as possible, the in-app samples are recorded at minor third intervals, and most in-app samples are looped for continuous play, with a loop duration of 5 seconds. This results in almost 5x reduction in app size**, yet has virtually no audible difference between this '63 Edition and the top-of-the-range Streetlytron Pro Edition. Sample replay within the app uses an advanced cubic spline interpolator, to delivery premium sonic quality. • AUv3 Plug-In PLEASE?!?!?

    Nothing would be finer
    than an AUv3 plug-in
    I'm Streetly Tronin'

    It would make me happy
to simply play in my host appy
    when I'm Tronin'

    Please make it so.

  • great idea but some flaws

my main gripe is that it sounds like some heavy audio restoration has been done on some samples (flute particularly) and having them at the higher quality doesn't help much. same reason I wasn't fond of the M3000 app.

update - why does this app like to play the samples flat? why is the keyboard so horrible? missed a big mark with this app, needs a lot to make it perfect.
  • Bring back the Pad Mode setting!

I really wish they had kept the ‘Pad Mode’ option. Also it’s irritating have to buy this whole new version when the previous version was better.
