Massive increase is sonic fidelity - Pipe Organ now uses 16 rather than 4 wavetables per pipe Fix to 48kHZ / 44.1kHz pitch issue Improvements in performance for iOS 9.3.5 (iPad 2 / iPod Touch 5G) Improvement in Service import / export Fix to unequal temperaments - these were previously tuned such that C was held constant, which left A not necessarily tuned to International A - e.g Lehman 2005 would be 5.8 cents sharp. This is now fixed, A will not move in the presence of temperament changes. Violinists tuning against the organ will be happy about this. Fix to 'General Cancel' graphics. Update to the codebase to be based on the upgrades introduced to support Church Organ for Mac OS.

Change to Service file format - previously services were stored flat, so were always 666kBytes. Which is an unfortunate file size for use in church, so they are now stored sparse and are typically less than 40kBytes for a service featuring 10 pieces of music. Any old 'fat' services will still load, but will be saved back sparse, making Service sharing much more efficient. When Services are imported, instead of blindly overwriting the currently selected service, the Service indicators flash - just touch the service you want to overwrite to commit the import.

Description of Pipe Organ

Pipe Organ is our most accurate, sweetest-sounding organ simulation yet, with 22 ranks of simulated pipes and a warm, lush reverberation unit to add life and space to your music.  Pipe Organ is extremely flexible, and allows you to use anything from a single USB MIDI keyboard up to 2 keyboards, pedalboard and 2 expression pedals - Swell and Crescendo - for the full Pipe Organ experience. Pipe Organ is also a Player Organ - it doesn't even need an organist for you to enjoy its sounds and use it in church, at choir practice, or on the streets at Christmas for caroling. We provide over 30 pieces of music with the app, all recorded live into the app by UK-based organists, and captured from a wide variety of setups ranging rom a simple single keyboard through a full two manual plus pedals organ. You can expand your collection at any time, by recording or importing pieces, and can play them back and freely share them. Hymns, Christmas Carols, Liturgy, Voluntaries, concert organ classics or popular songs. The built-in hymnal can store up to 1024 tunes within the app using our ultra-compact custom file format, which is typically 2 to 2.5x more compact than MIDI. But you can also save and restore your music collection outside the app or even off your device for peace of mind. As a musical instrument Pipe Organ can be used at home, for choir practice, in schools, in church services. As a Player Organ it can be used in all the same situations, but removes the need for an organist. As a replacement for 'Worship CDs' of organ music, Pipe Organ has massive advantages. It costs MUCH less than a set of worship CDs. It has enormous flexibility when playing back songs. The organ itself may be customized - the level of reverberation, the organ's temperament, the organ's overall tuning stability ("time since last tuning"), the organ's pitch (415 or 440Hz A), all can be changed to suit. And for each piece of music within a Service / Recital, the tune's tempo and key can be changed - songs that are too fast, too slow, too high or too low can be made just right for your audience, choir or congregation.

Reviews of Pipe Organ

  • Problem

Whenever i launch it, i play one note and it plays that same note continuously without control. I can’t play any other key because the organ keeps playing that one singular note.
  • unstable app won’t play like St.Just from same publisher

Same MIDI source, same iPad Pro hardware, same MIDI hardware, and same audio interface as used successfully with the St.Just organ app, but this app isn’t stable and usually won’t play any of the MIDI notes it’s given.

    Developer Response

I have no idea what the grounds for the criticism are. Every single video of this app has captured audio from the app directly as the app was running - the videos are a 100% accurate reflection of the sounds the app generates.  If those sounds are not to your taste that’s fine, just use a different app.  But it is inexcusable and defamatory to falsely make the accusation that videos promoting the app are deliberately misleading.
  • Unbelievable how this app is sitting on a low-star rating!

For the price, etc. this app is a 10 out of 10. Both organ apps by this developer are top notch for what they were intended to do. The odd reviewer who described this app as a (toy) is suspicious at best. Do not be fooled. As this “digital organ” instrument is a recreation at the highest and most serious level. And achieves quite a bit. It is super impressive. And does GREAT just to the Baroque spirit.
