  • Very simple and easy to use

I’ve been using a TI-30X IIS for over 10 years now and every time I tried to switch to a calculator app there was always something that I needed that the app couldn’t provide. After trying at least 10 different apps I finally found this one. It allows you to move your cursor to edit an entry anywhere in the line (a surprisingly rare feature) and it allows you to recall former calculations and use the answers to them in future calculations. That combined with a lack of ads and ease of use makes this a fantastic calculator app!

My only complaint is that the app tends to give 3 digits in front of the decimal when it is giving you an answer in scientific notation. For most people that is probably fine, but for my work that is annoying. If it either defaulted to 1 digit or allowed you to select how many digits before the decimal in the settings then that would be good.

  • Wonderful!

This is such a great calculator! Has all the features and more that I could want :) Thank you so much for making this
  • Was perfect up until… why did you update it?:D

The new update is not good. Where is C and delete?! Why would you ruin something that was perfect before the last update or so. I know there is certain space you need for numbers and stuff but before the last update I like it had delete/c/= … I don’t remember how it was exactly but I just happen to open the app and it is reorganized . Muscle memory does not need change :D

You can switch to the old keyboard layout. Turn on the "Control Buttons" in the app settings. There should've been a popup with this information when you first opened the app after the update.
  • Once Loved now Lost

I once wrote a glowing review for this App when it was in it’s infancy and then FREE.
I loved it that much I often made comments with photos on Macrumers to the author to help ease problems.
I liked it that much I even donated TWICE in sums GREATER than the cost of this App+.
And my reward…… I am now expected to pay for Solves+

Sorry but you lost a loyal contributor.

All features prior to Solves+ remain free. Donations are donations, not a deposit for the future.
  • Great calc with no subscription or ads

Got sick of the previous calculator app I used as it had several ads and only had an option for subscription. This app has none of that nonsense while also having a clean UI and compatibility with keyboards.
All of the basic and scientific calculator functions are available for free. Unit conversions can be bought, which I did, as it's also hard to find decent apps for that. Unit conversions are very customisable; pick the category and units you use most and they are easily accessible for quick conversions.
    Seems perfect. Thanks 😁

  • Almost perfection for my needs...

(Mac version) I think it is great. The numbers on the tape are nice and crisp now. The numberpad still needs a little better resolution though. Thank you for putting in the effort to create such a great product. :)

    The new update should help!
  • Paid upgrade unit conversion is unintuitive and laborious

I paid the upgrade fee for the conversion functionality and I regret it. It is very awkward to do conversions as you just cannot select two units to convert between easily and quickly. You have to go into a menu and and create a conversion group first and then use that to convert units. It’s an awkward process that takes too long. After you have created a conversion group you can use it without having to go through a menu by tapping on an icon for the group you made, which is good for conversions you do often, but every unit conversion of the same type (ie. mass) uses the same icon and there are no text labels to show which is which. You have to tap through each one to see what it is. You also cannot just tap an icon to switch back and forth between the units, you have to tap one one to pop up a menu and then change it. The whole process is tedious and you’re better off just using any search engine or some other app to do the conversion, especially if isn’t a conversion you will be doing over and over.

You can add more than two units in one group to avoid creating multiple groups of the same category. You can edit groups to add/remove units when needed. I'll try to make switching the source unit easier.
  • Annoying popups

it always baffles how developers in these ages think we love getting popups randomly in their apps. Guess what? People hate popups, and it’s hard to love an app that throws popups when all you want is use it, in this case, get going with a simple calculation. Put a menu item with tips, but stop with this popup madness, please.

There are about 5 of them and they are shown with an interval of 2 weeks minimum.
  • Great app

I really like this app but there seems an issue with exponential numbers.
Here’s an example. The result is inconsistent.

    Type in
    1x10^15 Result….. 1x10^15
    1x10^16 Result….. 10x10^15
    1x10^17 Result….. 100x10^15
    1x10^18 Result….. 1x10^18
    1x10^19 Result….. 10x10^18
    1x10^20 Result….. 100x10^18

It the same on both iPad and iPhone

This is engineering notation. The exponent of ten is always selected to be divisible by three to match the common metric prefixes, i.e. thousands, millions, trillions, ...
