I agree with most of the reviews here. It’s nice, clean, and helpful. It’d be cool if there was an actual game element though, since the makers are “game” developers. Maybe a Match the Emotion to its definition. Or put the emotions into their respective categories. Something more interactive. Adding a daily ping notification option would be cool too. Also, please correct the spelling of “the Old Brain” in the Brainstem definition. It currently says “the Old Brian” lol 😖🫣

  • Outdated Psychology & Minimal Function

This app uses debunked psychology from the 20th century and provides very little of youse to the person who downloads it. It’s basically a notepad with a list of definitions of emotions. That’s all. It’s not worth your time.
  • Thank you.

This app is a great resource!

Then there’s fact that is 100% free, doesn’t make you sign up/enter an email, doesn’t track you or your data, and doesn’t inundate with notifications or requests for money, etc. So rare today to find an app that you can literally just download and use and have that be the end of it.

  • A Good Resource!

I’m always looking for EQ resources for my clients, and this app will be a good resource for them to help expand emotional vocabulary and nuance. I hope they keep adding new emotions definitions and continue to include non-English words that English doesn’t have! Also hope they continue to research and include interesting facts/theories about emotions and their functions to highlight the individual and interpersonal value in bolstering EQ.

  • Yes yes yes! 👏🏾

This app is such an incredible start. The daily delivery of emotional intelligence has already increased my acumen which has positively impacted my relationships.

Would love to see an iOS widget that informs us at a glance and invites the curiosity to deepen emotional knowledge and learn more.
  • Widgets?

This is a great app. I would really love if there were some widgets for the Home Screen with emotion of the day on it!
  • Bug or genius

Ironically, the emotion of the day is always frustration.. this is either a bug or pure genius.

That is definitely a bug 😄. I will release a fix soon. Thanks for flagging this.
  • Impressed

I’ve seen many emotion dictionary apps. Or, apps which contain them. This app surpasses any other I’ve seen. These are the same develops of “Grammar Fix”. So, I shouldn’t be surprised the quality of the writing and the UI design is amazing.
I’m a writer and find myself referring to this app to help me express my character’s emotions.
    Additionally, it helps me too.

  • Helps identify what you’re feeling.

Not only is this app beautiful but it helps. I’ve been struggling a lot with depression and i’ve been trying to identify what i’m feeling so i could take down the emotions that follow depression, this app helps me with that. Just being able to identify what you’re feeling, helps you improve yourself.

I am very happy to hear the app has been helpful and I wish you all the best on your journey. This started as a personal project where I researched how emotions work in general and what each of them means for myself, and it's been just as helpful.
  • Not enough emotions

It works well, I just wish that it didn’t have so few emotions? Like the Hoffman list. I’d download again if they added all of those. I don’t see why it’s so limited.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the review Cindy. When making this app I wanted to keep the app simple and 50 of the most common emotions looked like a good number. I wanted to make sure it helps as many people as possible, and I was worried seeing a long list of emotions, some of which only have subtle differences between them, could put some people off. I get where you're coming from though, and I'll consider expanding the list. Are there any emotions you'd have particularly liked to see defined? You can reach out at cr.moisei@gmail.com
