Widget Doesn’t Update Automatically
Honestly, this app is extremely useful to keep me aware of my homework and stuff that I need to do. My only gripe which reduced this to only 2-stars is that, even though I paid, the widget does not automatically update when I add a new countdown. I have to manually delete the widget and re-add it. This is extremely annoying and if I knew that, I would not have purchased it. If the developers can push an update to correct this or show me how I can have the widget automatically update, I will update my review to be 5-stars.Show lessKunosaki

Easy and fun
This app is great especially for counting down birthdays but the only downfall is you have to pay $2.99 to unlock the widget option which I was excited for but it’s so fun to make countdowns and easy to use. Although it would be pretty cool if I could make the background of a countdown an image from my camera roll instead of just a solid color :)Show lessSqueakfur06
Widget will not work and trying to charge twice
I downloaded this app and paid for the $4.50 upgrade to use widgets. I could set up a countdown but could find no instructions in the app itself for creating a widget. Dug through past reviews and located instructions. Why aren’t these in the app itself? Instructions don’t work for me no matter what I try. Deleted from phone and reinstalled. App Store shows I purchased upgrade for widgets but app is asking me for $4.50 again! Does not appear to work as intended and very expensive for an app that does not deliver. Hi OllieandBiss, If you've purchased our upgrade and the app is not on the premium version, it should be quite easy to fix: - Tap on the upgrade banner that's on the main screen - Then tap on Restore in the top right corner To add the widget you need to long press on an empty section of your home screen, maybe some empty space between icons. Another option is to long press on any app icon, and then tap "Edit Home Screen". This will put your device in "jiggle mode", where all your app icons are jiggling. Once you are there, tap on the (+) button that's located in the top left corner. Then a new view will open with all the widgets available to you, you should look for ours which is called Countdown and has the same icon as our app, then tap on it and then tap Add Widget. NOTHING useful is free.. Downloaded to view the widget on my phone but the tile reads something to the effect of, “unlock premium to open widget”. Like ???Hatethismessangerapp

Hi Hatethismessangerapp, Almost all the features in our app are free while seeing ads, except for the widget and custom format. You can add as many events as you like, set reminders, pick any background color, repeat yearly and sync with iCloud all for free. We've been working on this app for over two years, so asking for a one time payment in return of premium features doesn't seem unreasonable to us. Love this app as well as the devs being responsive to emails this is great and my wife and I use it on our phones to mark the countdown to important dates.
The only feature I would like and have mentioned is the ability to add a photo background to the event, it would then be perfect :))

awesome app
my bsf actually had this app and i saw her use it often to keep track of my birthday, her 1 year anniversary with her boyfriend etc.
i decided a few days ago to get it for myself and love it! i haven’t paid for the premium version as it is not necessary for what i need.
it keeps track of how many months, days, hours, minutes and even seconds, if you go into the individual countdown.
if you stay on the screen where you can see all your countdowns you can see the amount of days in total.
i really like this app, i find it easy to use and completely worth it! the premium isn’t necessary but it would be cool to have.
everyone should really stop going off at the developers, due to having to pay for widgets. it’s not a big deal in my opinion, you don’t have to pay much to get that aswell as no ads!
speaking of ads, they aren’t bad at all in this app!

Countdown review
The app should allow you to add pictures from your camera not just emojis , also change the font of the countdown labels. Would be great if you could link to the calendar app as well. I have paid for the premium upgrade.fi jean
You can’t change the date format on the widget
The cost of the premium upgrade is very reasonable compared to other countdown apps. However one of the main features of premium is getting to change the date format. Unfortunately the date format you select does not apply to the widget. The widget will always be in days. For countdowns that are years away it will be thousands of days. Had I know this I would not have paid for premium.
Update: Thanks for the Dev reply. Looks like you can change the date format for the small single event widget. I use the large 7 event widget and it does not seem you can adjust the date format on that one.Show lesslmd06e

Hi lmd06e, You can change the format in the widget. To do so, long press on the widget, then tap Edit Widget. Then turn on the toggle for "Choose Units" Then tap Choose, And then pick the units that you want to display in the widget and tap Done. I’m not always patient when it comes to waiting for things that I’m excited for, such as the last day of school. This countdown is super helpful because anytime I get stressed, I can look at my phone and remind myself that I don’t have long to go and I just need to hang on tight for a little while longer. It’s also good for counting down to things I enjoy, like family visits. The only con is that there are ads, but you can pay a small fee to remove them. I recommend it highly. :)Show lessElena Swan
