Can’t set the location

I followed the instructions to change the device location, but the app always saves my current location instead of the location I selected on the map. Therefore, the temperature estimate is always 5 to 10 degrees different from the actual temperature where the device is.

Thus, it’s impossible to set up the smart automation based on temperature.

Honestly nothing to say

When there is an app and a hardware with no issues you could give easily 5 stars. And this one is 5 no issue at all hardware and software after 3 years of use. If you change the look of the app it will be good. But the timer option is awesome.

Buggy. Device’s intermittently lose connection.

If this system worked consistently, that would be great, but it doesn’t. The devices constantly lose connection and need to be reconnected to Wi-Fi. It’s not a problem with my Wi-Fi. I have a very strong mesh system. I have 88 Topgreener devices (switches, dimmers, plugs and relays) installed so my connection issues are not isolated to just a few devices; it seems that all devices are unreliable.

The app could also use a UX update. When you have 20 or so rooms the slider menu is really not ideal. A list menu would be much better when you have this rooms configured.

Very hard to maintenance

I lose control at lest once a week and it is very hard to restart

With age, apps and products should get better. Not this company. When this company’s first products came out, it wasn’t difficult to setup and connect to Alexa echo devices. I just bought a set of wall plugs like the ones I bought before, but they will not connect with the new app, the olds don’t connect, only one switch connected to the app and I can’t share it with my Alexa app. No online help solves my problems. I’m never buying another one of these again. I’m literally going to replace the of 25 devices that I got working with a name brand stuff that will work seamlessly with my echoes. What a pain.

Doesn’t lock in your location time zone!!

If you are traveling in a different time zone, let’s say in the other part of the world, your lights will go on/off in your traveling time zone and not the time zone of where you live! I tried stopping location access while I was traveling but it keeps on using the time zone where I am at and not the time where it should be be.

Also, during a power outage, the switches are very finicky and the light brightness usually goes to 0%.

No issues whatsoever

I’ve had these in constant use for years now. They’re absolutely 100% functional, without any issues at all. I’m amazed. And a customer for life.

After 2 years, no problems

The app is simple and easy to setup. Rock solid!
I am now at 45 TOPGREENER devices in our home (Dimmers, Switches, Plugs, etc…). They all have worked flawlessly for over 2 years. I added a skill to Amazon Alexa and I control pretty much the entire house by voice.

My lessons learned are give each unit you install a simple name. Plus, make a list mapping the MAC addresses to name and location of the device. You could map the IP addresses also, but if you use DHCP and you have a power failure or you reboot your router, the addresses might change. So MAC address mapping is the way to go. So if you ever have wifi issues, you can easily find which device is offline or other.

Great products, simple to use app and adding the TOPGREENER skill to Alexa is a big plus. Recommended!

Summary: if you plan on converting your home to an automated home, you need to be slightly geeky and understand some safe basic electric principles, Wi-Fi knowledge, IP addressing and what DHCP is, understand MAC addresses and if you use Alexa, well, you need to know how to add a skill. Oh, and make sure you have a good firewall/IDS as to not let the bad guys into your network and do crazy things to your home automation!

Not working

Registration in app and on the website does not work. Do not use or buy this product.
This app should not be behind a login, the user should simply connect to outlets they have authorized by pressing the button and pairing.

Not able to view detail usage

Not able to view detail usage. I believe your team developed and tested on newest iPhones only. I am using iPhone SE 2020 and I am unable to click into the detail usage of each month. Please fix.
