He finally moved to Pondicherry so that he could single-mindedly study and practice the Integral yoga of Sri Aurobindo. For the next twenty years he remained engaged in yogic practice and intensive study of the works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as well as the vast literature of Indian and Western Philosophy, history and culture. A new system of Integral Education based on Sri Aurobindo’s Philosophy on Education had taken shape and it came to be admired by both Indian and Western educationists. Kireet Joshi played an important role in its development and was instrumental in spreading its message both in India and abroad. He was a professor at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education where he taught Integral Philosophy, Integral Psychology and Indian culture. He taught students at various levels - Kindergarten, primary, secondary, graduation and post-graduation. He was appointed Educational Advisor to the Government of India specially to create a new dimension of value-education in the entire education system of the country. Extraction of Yogic knowledge from the Vedic Samhitas, Upanishads and the Bhagavadgita and linking it right upto the Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother has been the central focus of his research work.
