Not for ipads
Its good but its for phones only it wont take the full screen of an ipad and its kinda frustrating not being able to have cover the full screen like hiragana sensei does

amazing
When i started using this app, i already knew all hiragana, but i was finding it EXTREMELY difficult to learn katakana. But when i found this app, i was able to learn around 25 characters in 1 day. This app is no joke. I highly recommend this.

Good but…
I really like this app, but my sound isn’t working correctly! I have an Iphone 7, so maybe it’s my phone? I cannot heart what the character sounds like so I just have to guess. It only plays after I press the correct answer, I don’t know if it’s supposed to do that or not.

Pros:
-Cute
-Accurate

Cons:
-Can’t hear
-Testing your knowledge

Overall, I say three stars, horrible for beginners but pretty good if you have some knowledge in Katakana.

Very cute
I thought the app was very cute if you're just testing your knowledge on katakana, I didn't really like the learning interface but it was still fun to use.

Mostly good
As others have stated, there are small errors. For example, “デパートー”. Translated to romaji, it should be depaatoo. It consistently told me I was wrong until I wrote depaato, despite its own instruction down below that says to use double consonants for the long vowels represented with “ー”. Either the katakana or romaji was programmed incorrectly (I’m not sure which at my current level)

Great! But Sound doesn’t work for me
I love this app! Super simple to use, clean interface, and very informative. My only issue is that I can no longer hear the characters so it’s difficult for me to complete lessons. Please look into this for me! I’d love to continue using your app

Hello, thanks for the review and sorry for the late reply. Please check if your phone is on silent mode and the volume is turned up. We also recently released our new JLRPG Quest app that combines Hiragana and Katakana Sensei into one app that fixes many of the issues from the previous . Please give that one a try and let us know if you still have any issues. ありがとう！
Great app but some small errors
It’s a really great app and I loved it just like Hiragana Sensei. But this one still has a lot of mistakes (wrong translations in the kotoba challenges, and the middle challenges have kanas you haven’t learned yet). I hope they’ll be fixed soon. It would be great to have “kotoba study” feature just like Hiragana Sensei

We finally made the fixes and also released our new JLRPG Quest app that combines Hiragana and Katakana Sensei into the same app. We will be adding more kotoba study and challenges into the new JLRPG Quest app and sunsetting the original Hiragana and Katakana Sensei Apps. its really good but i had a problem
it was really good and im still using it to this day! but when i go back to the first kotoba challenge it gives words that haven’t appeared yet between a-to which is kind of confusing.
