Poor app and garbage product
This app is solely for use with the Lowe’s Gemmy brand orchestra of lights product and while the idea is great the execution is horrible.
The app itself is confusing and unpolished looking some buttons/ functions like the Bluetooth have no explanation and everything appears to function exactly the same if it’s on or off.
The initial process to setup the hub went ok and it did find and bind to all my lights. I was able to do shows and even sync them to music for one evening. That’s it only a single evening.
After that some of the lights began to unsync from the rest and not respond. They still show in the app but don’t respond. There’s a reset procedure in the app but it return an error 100% of the time. Removed and reinstalled, tried resetting everything nothing appears able to get these to work correctly like they breifly did that first day. Now more sets appear to stop syncing and do whatever random thing they want despite all lights hub and phone having close proximity and strong wifi.
It’s a little hard to tell how much of this is due to the app or the products but since they only function all together I’m reviewing as a single product. For the high price premium on these they overate as described.

Bugs galore
Wired cat 6 right to the gen2 hub… but doesn’t find all light sets have 3 set but only finds 2 search over and over and sometimes it will pick up 3rd set but not usually light are about 65 ft away from the hub .. app has some cool features but so many missing.. you can create a custom color… but then it’s one color.. if I want to have s 2 custom colors at once can’t do that… app response is very slow. The light themselves are decent quality but this app is not very good

2021 tower hub frying issue

Update killed hub days before Christmas
First the app wanted to update the hub and it kept saying error and blocking the rest of the app, so you couldn’t click on anything to change the settings. Now, on Christmas Day after another new update, the hub doesn’t even turn on. I’ve had these lights for 5 years and every year there’s a problem. Don’t think I’m using them next year after all the money spent. They were working fine all month until 3 days before Christmas! Are you kidding! Fix your app or discontinue the product! Don’t sell these anymore if you expect customers to use them as intended. My lights don’t even sync, each strand (3) is doing a different color or pattern. One side of my house is pink and the other side is flashing red and green and I can’t do anything about it because of your broken app.

Killed my gen 1 hub
Latest update (3.1.6) killed all power to my hub. Now no lights at all flash and I obviously can’t have a lighshow or music DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! Angry and disappointed at this waste of my time and money
A company that QUICKLY makes things right
An update on the app in ‘23 bricked my old hub 4 days before Christmas. Without the app, you have zero control over these lights so I was livid. Wrote the company and not only did I receive a response within minutes, but they overnighted a new hub (the new, square version of the hub). Lights now all work perfectly and this new hub responds to the app much better than ever before. This kind of responsiveness means a lot.

Newest update
The latest update they pushed won’t load onto the original hubs so you can’t connect to the hub now and control your lights or music. This needs to be addressed quickly
Terrible
I like them the very first year I got them but after that, it’s just been nothing but trouble Lowe’s is always sold out and they don’t have much of a selection to buy when they are in stock. Over the years I have expanded on to the collection and it’s hard to get everything within range so that the lights operate correctly. I have my lights on the timer and every day this year I come home the lights have been reset and are going haywire. I have had to mess with this whole season, and now with the latest update, my Orchestra Of Lights router will not connect. I’m having trouble connecting back to my lights and the Network, so now all the money I spent is just useless and I am not able to use them . DO NOT BUY!

Will not update software version
I’ve had these lights for 3 years. It seems like every time I set them up, there’s another software update. This year, I keep getting an error message saying something went wrong and it doesn’t let me update the software. Since the software won’t update, I am not able to use the hub, as the app doesn’t connect unless the latest software is updated. I reset the hub and even deleted the app and re-installed it. Nothing works! Very frustrating and disappointing, especially since I paid over $400 for this setup.

App needs a facelift!
The app itself can be better. The timer should be able to be set and allow the user to make changes without needing to turn it on or off. It only works after trying commands twice for me, commands are ignored every other time. It also should allow a timer for just lights and lights with music. The app should also allow the user to have a little more control of what the lights do. As for the products this app controls… the products are cool, but can also be way better. Needs a radio tuner for the Bluetooth device and needs a better song selection. When Bluetooth is used, it could be a little more active and give a little more control to the owner of the lights.
