  • Newest release works very well

    The latest release is working very well. Trips are starting exactly where I start driving. I like that they show the maps and addresses. Many other apps I’ve used don’t, so it’s a welcome sight.
  • Anything but CarData

    I have used mileage trackers for years and I love them. They are - usually - so much better than a paper log that gets ratty in your car over the month. That being said… A messy paper log with spilled coffee getting crumpled up in my car over the month would be a vast improvement over this app. Let’s go back to an abacus, light years ahead of this app. I had to get a new phone because it killed the battery of my previous phone which worked just fine with 2 other mileage apps. My new phone continues to get so hot while tracking mileage that the electronics in my car’s entertainment system shut down and completely reboot at least once a trip. AND It is tracking you ALL the time, it doesn’t matter if you put the parameters in for your work hours it continues to track you 24 hours a day, seven days a week - running down your battery and killing the life of your phone. My hours are M-F 7-7 and it tracked me on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean one Saturday. I have to take a charger on the boat with me or remove the app from my phone every weekend and remember to put it back on every Monday. And we’re just getting started, because then the software designers made me get on a call and explain to them what I was using my phone for other than mileage tracking, they wanted a list of the apps I use while I’m working because they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it either. I’m not running an OnlyFans site while I’m driving down the interstate trying to do my job. I listen to audiobooks or podcasts, I do email and use the GPS. This app and the employees at CarData are invasive and ask questions that are frankly none of their business -they are an HR lawsuit just waiting to happen. This is the most invasive and useless piece of software I have ever come across. Unfortunately, I am locked in because my company chose to use them. I have heard from multiple people that this will be changing as soon as the contract is up. As I’m sure all companies who have had the unfortunate experience of working with CarData will do as well.   • Doesn’t deserve a single star

    My company is going on just about a year since we have switched over to Cardata, and still have the same issues that they claim will be resolved with every update. This app is horribly unreliable. Breaks trips up, randomly doesn’t track, and when it actually does track, the mileage is usually inaccurate and shorts you. I spend more time manually entering trips and modifying mileage to match my odometer than anybody should be for an app that claims will make your life easier. Support just tells you to uninstall and reinstall the app, which sometimes works but most of the time does not. At best is a temporary fix, and sometimes only works for one trip. The grass is definitely not greener — too bad the management that makes the decisions to use this company didn’t do any research before jumping. The app reviews tell the story.

  • Don’t bother-

    I have to use this for work and I’m super irritated that I do.
    The app consistently misses trips during the day, consistently comes up with the wrong address (I leave my house every morning- HOW can it just give different random addresses consistently????? )
    And with how they track, I’m always looking up the mileage on google and adjusting the mileage to the CORRECT mileage so I don’t get screwed.
    The only good thing about this app is that it is easy to use, even though it’s always wrong.
    Don’t bother using this app until they fix it or you like aggravation.

  • DOESN’T TRACK MILEAGE

    A mileage tracking app that…. DOESN’T TRACK MILEAGE. I just wish these huge companies that use this app would wash their hands of it and let them tank. They release an “update” every few days it seems but it never works. I’ve lost out on THOUSANDS of dollars in mileage over the course of the last 3 years because the FORTUNE 100 company I work for refuses to use any other app. The one we had before worked flawlessly but we now use this one and give it change after chance after chance. If you’re considering getting this app for your business… DONT.

  • Waste of time

    I spend more time correcting mileage in this app than I spent tracking it manually myself. I turn on tracking for the day, and this app consistently misses my trips. I had 5 stops today, and it only tracked 1.

    Why can’t the developers just fix these issues? Why can’t they just hire someone who can? I’m guessing the answer is that they don’t care, and they’re getting our company’s money anyway.

    This is a warning to any company thinking of using Car Data. DON’T!

  • Simply Awful

    The company I worked for switched from MOTUS to CarData and it has been absolutely awful. It doesn’t track my stops, miscalculates my mileage, is not user friendly and the dashboard severely lags my trip activities. Now I have to manually track my mileage to double check the app which defeats the purpose. I’ve probably lost $200 of reimbursements because I trusted the app when it first rolled out for us but thank God some of my coworkers were not us trusting. I will say though that my customer service experience with them was 5 stars however that can’t make up for such a poor performing product.

  • Worthless

    This app is absolutely worthless. It hasn’t tracked mileage accurately for me or any of my colleagues since my company switched to it late last year. The support staff can’t help with anything. If you call them you will be told that they are working on it or that a new version will be released that will fix any ‘glitches’. There have been multiple app updates and I have deleted and reloaded the app multiple times (as suggested by Cust Serv) and it still doesn’t track mileage even remotely accurately. DO. OT SUBJECT YOUR EMPLOYEES TO THIS JUNK APP.

  • Worst app ever

    I’ve actually never written a review on any app but this one deserves it. My company switched to this to track our business mileage and it basically does not work. I have it set to auto from 7am-5pm, with the old app “Motus” I’d average 1800 miles per month. I think it recorded less than 200 miles last month. It doesn’t show in real time that is tracking your current trip so you don’t even know if it’s working. I was told that the trips would show up later but apparently not.

  • Horrible

    This app has the potential to be great but they can’t figure out how to get it to track. My company has been using Cardata for 3 months and multiple bug fixes and each one it feels like it gets worse. Sometimes it tracks me overnight even though I have the schedule set for 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, sometimes not at all. Every once in a while it gets it right so it can be done. Hopefully they figure it out or my company switches to something that works.
