*New 2, 5 and 10 Level* There's a new level under Bronze, for those who need to practise their 2, 5 and 10 times tables from KS1. The question types are also slightly less varied, to gradually introduce the concept to those who are used to only standard times tables questions! *** This new level was suggested to me by a teacher who thought it would be useful for some students in her class. It is a great privilege to have fellow teachers help improve the app! If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them: contact me at http://ks2timestables.co.uk/contact.html :) *ClassKit bug* There are also a couple of tweaks to how ClassKit works, particularly to make the app work reliably on iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and 6s.

This is a massive update! Please take the time to check out all the new features: **New level for the Government "Multiplication Tables Check"** There's a new level, hidden below Bronze, called 'Year 4 Test', which mimics the Government's new "Multiplication Tables Check" test which Year 4 students can do from 2019/2020. Unlike other levels, you only get two and a half minutes to answer 25 questions (six seconds per question). And, just like the Government's test, you'll only be tested on the standard forward multiplication questions, and the probability of each times table appearing is the same as the Government's tests. **ClassKit and Schoolwork** Teachers can now use Apple's Schoolwork app to assign levels to a class and receive every student's scores, times and question types to work on. The teacher can set each student's level, and each student gets sent to that level, and answers the questions normally. When they mark their test as Done, the teacher gets to see how long you took, what your score is, and which types of question they can help you work on. **Big rewrite** The entire question-making algorithm has been rewritten from the ground up to support new award levels in future, and now it has: - Made questions with 0, 1 and 10 less likely to occur in some circumstances; - Made previously tested times tables less likely to occur in Gold, Platinum and Kryptonite; - There was a remote possibility in Gold for a question to have more than one possible answer. This is now impossible! - Opened up a few other exciting possibilities which will remain secret for now! Also, some other improvements: - Redesigned the feedback page to make it easier to see your progress and where to improve; - The feedback for each question has been replaced to show the correct answer (in green) and the answer you gave; - The keyboard is now more accessible for those with dyslexia or lower visual acuity: the 9 looks more different to the 6 and 8, and the colours are less stark. - Added haptics for correct and incorrect answers; - Corrected a typo which sometimes appeared on the feedback page (shhh... don’t tell my students!) - The launch screen now is pixel-perfect on all devices - Works with the new iPhone XR and the third-generation iPads Pro. As ever, if you spot anything, want to suggest anything, or want more information, please contact me at http://ks2timestables.co.uk If you're a teacher and use KS2 Times Tables in school, I would love to hear from you!

Price History of KS2 Times Tables

Description of KS2 Times Tables

I'm a teacher in a primary school, and I created KS2 Times Tables to help me with a problem: our students enjoy their times tables tests, and get very excited when they progress from the Bronze award through Silver, Gold, Platinum and Kryptonite... but, it can be a handful handing out, marking and feeding back tests for 30 children at different levels each week. Not to mention how wasteful and expensive all that photocopying is. So I created this app to help, using the latest research on effective teaching of multiplication in the Key Stage 2 national curriculum. Choose your level from Bronze (the 2, 4 and 8 times tables, including division, inverse operations, and fractions) up to Kryptonite (all the tables, and tens, hundreds, decimals, squaring, cubing and fractions). You get five minutes to answer forty questions presented to focus on one at a time. Each question varies the procedure and concept used, as the latest pedagogical research shows this is far more effective at helping you develop quick fact recall and helps you apply the facts to other areas of maths. These questions are not just simple random questions like some times tables tests have, they are a variety of carefully chosen concepts and procedures which stretch your mastery, so you will truly know your tables inside out and back to front. KS2 Times Tables does not just test multiplication facts, it helps you practise the related division facts at the same time, varies the order of the equations, and extends the skills into the tens and hundreds, and into the decimals. Every test also includes multiplication and division of fractions, from unit fractions of amounts in Bronze, up to converting mixed numbers in Kryptonite. Kryptonite has its name for a reason: if you pass Kryptonite reliably you will have mastered all KS2 knowledge and stretched yourself deep into the KS3 curriculum. And when you have finished, you get feedback specific to your answers, so you know where to focus next time. I don't like those educational apps which only give you the first level free, and I don't like the idea of showing children adverts when they should be focusing on learning. So the value proposition is clear and simple: I charge the lowest price upfront to cover my costs and time, and in return you get all the app features and levels without ads or in-app purchases.

  • Can’t be downloaded to iPhone 5

My 9yo has my old iphone5 without a SIM card, so she can use it for music and apps. A mini tablet if you like. I’m sure this is true of many primary age kids. This is your target market. Advised by school to get this app, tried to download it to her phone- but It won’t as it needs iOS 11.4 or above to work. I phone5 stops at 10.3. Yes, she can use it on my phone, but she would practice a lot more if it were on her own phone. Oh and I paid 99p in order to find this out.

    Developer Response

Hi Nelly, I’m currently looking into whether I can tweak the app to support older devices, as you’re right about the target market having more older devices. Hopefully I can do that soon!
  • Very good

I love the app and it is very good for learning times tables in an easy way.
  • Great app!

This is really helpful as my sats are coming up and I need that little bit extra in times tables!
