0/5: Update is horrible. The pricing is ridiculous, 8.99 a WEEK! A one time fee to remove adds would have been fine, or better just make it a paid app and stop the shenanigans. It’s a good app when able to use all the functions but nowhere worth the price they are asking. Like, not even remotely on the same planet close. $468 a year….nope.
Update: hi thank you for your response. Listen you have a good app just make it affordable. “a bit more expensive” is not how I see it, it is incredibly overpriced. The New York Times games app, one of the best, most popular and polished apps on the store asks for $1.50 a week. You want SIX (6) times that amount, and still have bugs in the app. There are many people who would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for this, instead you are losing a lot of loyal users. I hope you reconsider the pricing.

Please, note that we made sure to include all the exciting and useful features into our Premium subscription. Ads are only available in the free trial.This was a wonderful app. It was a bit buggy, yet still usable and wonderful. I suspect that not having an update in half a decade would potentially be a reason for some of the bugs. Then less than a month ago, as of this review (July 20,2024), version 1.3 comes out. It claims “Fantastic improvements”, and “Now you can completely concentrate on writing songs, poetry, rap, etc.” That is not remotely my experience. You cannot concentrate on anything with the deluge of ads that they have newly incorporated. There was already a pay wall, but a decent amount of the features were still available to the standard user. Not anymore. Even switching to dark mode has now been moved behind the paywall. No adds became full of ads and subscription requests. And still some of the old bugs are still present, maybe all of them. I cannot force myself to use the app in its current form enough to verify all the old bugs, but in my limited usage I have already seen some of the old ones. If you have this app and do not have automatic updates them please spare yourself from this update. If you do not have this app at all and are considering it heavily consider if you need another subscription fee in an oceanic tidal wave of subscriptions. If so this might be a decent app.

UPDATE: No longer opens in iOS 16. Time to call it a day with this app. ORIG: Earlier today I left the review below with 3 stars. After playing with the app a bit and watching the tutorial, I’m impressed by what a deceptively robust app this is. Since there is no in-app help, you REALLY need to watch the tutorial to see what it can do. And it can do a lot. Besides writing bad lyrics, I also enjoy writing bad haiku (haikus?). The syllable count in the left column keeps you from having to use your fingers to count syllables. And now, a haiku: This app is awesome, get it There’s no time like now What are you waiting for, fool? Initial review: Link to Privacy Policy is not working. How do I know that my multi-million dollar hit lyrics :) are not being siphoned up by this app? Oh right, I don’t.

Thank you!The new update is a disgrace. I have been using this app on and off for 5years and sure it had its flaws but it was the best lyric notepad around however I will be looking for a new app to write poetry on as a direct result of this shameful soulless money grab. This new update is absolutely shambolic!!! Making 99% of the functions now behind this disastrous paywall is terrible. No slant rhyme or rhyme help anymore in the free version, they even locked dark visual mode in settings behind the paywall. To make matters worse they put adds when you enter in and leave every poem, which really stifles the creative process and is just visually jarring. I would have been fine making a one time payment of 10 bucks, or even a monthly subscription at 5 or below and I most likely would have done it. However this soulless, update is charging $8.99 per week?!? Whoever thought of monetizing the app in this fashion has done a terrible job. You are absolute pond scum. 1/5 stars only because it won’t let me give 0 Exporting all data and deleting.

Thank you!I’ve had this app since…like 2018 and I’ve never wanted any other app for songwriting. Around 2021, the app crashed when iPhone updated their iOS and I was so scared I’d lost all my songs, but fortunately they updated it and I was able to get all of them back and have doubled if not tripled the number of songs I’ve written on here. It literally has everything a songwriter could dream of having in an app. Recorder to remember melodies, a place to put lyrics, notes feature where I like to put the chords for the specific song I’m working on if I need to remember, rhyme finder and I’m just skimming the surface with the list of tools all at your finger tips on just this one app! Could not recommend more! Only flaw is the limited features without premium, but I get that they have to make money somehow and honestly after I pay off my student loans; I might consider getting the premium version of this because it’s WORTH it!
I’m a retired high school and community college English instructor who writes poetry in his spare time. I’ve tried several poetry writing apps for ios, but none of them really helped that much. Short of using AI to perform auto-scansion of verses, this app, presently, is about as good as it gets, and the cost is quite reasonable. I recommend it to friends, associates, and former students. Though I have found better rhyming dictionaries and thesauri out there, I use this app because of its features, dependability, and convenience. It never gets in one’s way, its UI is easy to learn, its visual appearance is spare and appealing, its saving and syncing facilities seem reliable, and it has some nice customization options, including a dark theme. Thanks to the developers for an innovative and useful product.
UPDATED REVIEW, JUNE 24, 2024: I have really enjoyed writing lyrics and poetry with this app, but it is now COMPLETELY UNUSABLE IN ITS BASIC VERSION BECAUSE OF THE ADS. What’s more I have found no easy way to contact the developer. I would be willing to pay a one-time fee to remove ads or maybe a one-time payment for a lifetime subscription to premium features, but the weekly subscription rate is out of the question.
YOU KNOW, I PAID FOR THIS BUT NOW CAN’T USE IT!

Thank you!I have had this app for years, since I was in 6th grade…. I have been working on 8 poems and songs for that time and they have meant a lot to me, because this app no longer works with the IOS16 update I have lost years of emotions and work. I have multiple songs on this app dedicated to my little sister who passed nearly 2 years ago, this app was the only place I had any of those songs because I had had it for so long that I thought I could trust it. Do not get this app if you have any desire to be able to use or see your music, this app was a waste and has now caused me pain because of the developer basically abandoning this app. Thanks for nothin Kevin.
My phone recently updated and me and my band were making music and we wanted to right a new song so I open the app but when I make a new song it closes the app and I’ve tried everything the fix it but it just doesn’t want to work
I love this app it’s very convenient for artists. But unfortunately this app has no support contact or no way to help us fix our issues with the app! I have just lost over 100 songs!!! The app will open but my music lyrics won’t open ! Everytime I try to open a song up it won’t open and closes the entire app out!! I’m extremely sad and heart broken because I reached out to the email with no response nd has just now lost a lot of projects I was working on 😩
