im sorry i just hate this program. i use this app for school and its extremely annoying. its not very user friendly especially for me as a student. it wouldn’t let me move the calendar to check what homework i have due next week. the tabs around the interface are very confusing and i just don’t like it. im sorry.
Not all features available on mobile app. Mail or notifications are very complicated to handle. Should be as any other mail app. As a parent you can’t see grades easily, you have to go class by class, assignment by assignment. Won’t allow you to filter tasks by pending or upcoming so again, you have to go class by class.
Through several other schools my children have attended over the past 13 years, I have encountered very good (Powerschool), okay (Canvas, Sycamore, Google Classroom) and bad (Magnus) apps for tracking and submitting school grades, assignments, forms, teacher communication, etc. ManageBac is by far the worst app I have had to use. It is neither intuitive nor user-friendly. There is nowhere one can see (as a parent) an overall view of how my student is doing in terms of grades, assignments (graded, missing, upcoming), tardy/absence standing, or a means of communicating with teachers for ALL CLASSES AT ONCE. I have to click on each class individually to see assignments, which may or may not have been graded (not always correctly indicated) and the grades may or may not show. The problem is not exclusive to parents. I have spoken with several of my student’s teachers and found that they, too, struggle with the clunkiness. For that reason, they often don’t bother to enter or update the grades, etc., which in turn leaves us parents “in the dark” about our students’ standing and progress. My understanding is that ManageBac is most useful for the IB Program students in Years 12 and 13. For Year 7, my student’s current grade, ManageBac is virtually useless and wastes time because I need to contact teachers, who are already very busy, just to find out how my son is doing in school. I have never been more mystified nor frustrated by a school-related app.
Half of everything you click on is not up-to-date because people don’t input things regularly. Consequently, there are mostly useless links filled with data that is incomplete or old.
I think the overall app is really cleanly designed, and if I ever forget what class I have its really useful, although when I open the app after closing it it says “unable to verify session”, and the retry button does not work, but when I fully close the app it works, so it’s just a minor inconvenience. The other small complaint I have is the colors for the timetable is really weird like a light grey and it looks really ugly, so maybe add some more color customization.
The app gets worse ever update, I can’t even check my average grades (You could a few updates ago). Sometimes I just wanna do a quick check on my phone, but sadly I can’t.
This app literally stops working for hours everyday, the layout is terrible, stuff is extremely hard to find, it glitches constantly, and it’s just an overall nightmare to use.
Whoever is responsible for developing this app needs to seriously reconsider their life choices because this is obviously not cut out for them.

Please re-install the app and try again. If you still have loading issues please contact support@managebac.com.the app unlogs you every time which gets annoying really quickly.
it takes forever to load anything.
navigation is a nightmare i spent 20 minutes looking for files.
and also the design is pretty bland
If I inadvertently forget to sign out after reading messages etc I can never get back onto to the site . The only fix seems to be to delete the app and reinstall .

I think managebac is generally a good platform as far as the basic necessities go, but unlike a platform like google classroom, or even skyward, the user interface is very boring and unappealing.
Its very all over the place and not very user friendly, im used to it now, but when i first switched from Google Classroom to ManageBac it was very hard to tell where to go and what certain tabs did, and going back to my point about it being unappealing, everything is too small and there is too much on the screen, making it both overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time, which doesn’t help the non-user-friendliness.
I hope my review has been an indicator for some of the fundamental problems of managebac.
