  • Wow, a surprise hit!

I went in knowing this was a gacha game but I read some other reviews that raved about this game so I gave it a shot. I’m several hours in and it is surprisingly good of a game. Notice I didn’t include the word ‘mobile’, because it plays like something from an era where developers/publishers actually took pride in their work. The story is pretty good, but the real star of the show is the writing of characters — their thoughts, dialogue, and development is where it’s at. This is what Japanese developers excel at, making characters feel varied and unique (albeit some ‘classic’ tropes are of course present). And the subquests can be pretty entertaining too, while maybe not as enthralling as say Witcher 3 side quests, the writing holds up and is by far better than most other mobile game quests/writing. What’s more, even though this is a gacha game, earning the gacha currency by playing is not hard or laborious and the pull rates seem fair. I am seriously considering spending money to support these kinds of developers. You should at the very least download Another Eden and give it a try!

  • Best Mobile Gaming Experience I’ve Had

I’ve played a solid number of well-known and lesser-known gacha games, JRPGs, MMORPGS, RPGs and strategy games, and Another Eden is by far the best mobile gaming experience I’ve had to date. The story is captivating and complex, the ambiance is stunning with beautiful visuals, an incredible soundtrack, and well-designed, multi-faceted characters that interact with one another and build the story out further, and the gameplay is, dare I say it - FUN! I can play this game at my own pace and not worry constantly about keeping up with other players. What’s more, I can actually enjoy the gacha element without stressing about “needing” to get the latest character in order to succeed. For anyone looking for a fresh, vibrant take on mobile gaming and having a gameplay experience you can actually enjoy, I can’t recommend Another Eden enough.

  • Gripping story just wow

This game deserves a big thumbs up. The main story really captivated me. Some of the main characters are really unique, funny, quirky, and above all really likable. The main story can get really deep. The universe of this game keeps expanding like an epic fantasy novel. Some parts of the story, particularly dialogs among certain characters left me burst out laughing. Some parts of the story left me feeling emotionally raw. Questions left unanswered in the first installment of the game (up to Chapter 25) got answered in later updates. The bosses you will encounter in this game are top notch in character design. They are unique, complex, and each sort of has its own background story that fits in the main story. Some of the boss fights left me gasping for just how well the graphics and sound are done.

Now there are some drawbacks with this game too. The heavy grinding of a few of the key items takes the joy out of the game for me in many occasions. It’s mind numbing and frankly I feel bad and a bit exploited at having to waste precious time doing this. So I’d like to see improvements to lighten this burden on players especially if you are paying for a monthly subscription.

Above all please give this game a try and let it pull you in on the epic adventure. It’s the only mobile game I have on my phone these days and I say that Another Eden is one of the best mobile games I’ve ever played.

  • Lovely game

I’ve come played since the start of Launch and have dropped and picked up the game on a number of occasions when time has permitted. It continues to hold my attention and the stories are charming and some of the characters amazing in both story and design.

The problem with this game, for me, is in some of the translations. There is usually a glaring mistake somewhere with each new patch. In some cases there are multiple sentences that are poorly constructed or don’t make much sense. The quality control in the translations need some improvement for a game this heavily dependent on character development. The story is still understandable, but it does leave you wishing more effort was put forth. If this was fixed (I’m looking at you OG Hardy quest/auction) then this score would be higher.

This game is still very much recommended and is easily one of the better mobile games that deserves a bigger and wider audience. Kudos to you Wrightflyer Studios.

  • Fantastic title overall

I’ve been playing Another Eden pretty regularly the past few weeks, and really enjoying myself. It’s got great writing and music and the classic combat is really engaging, not to mention the wealth of sidequest content you can dive into to take a break from the story. The gacha element feels pretty light overall; I’ve managed a number of good pulls already and only spent a little on chronos stones, which I was happy to do just to support the game. There are however a couple things I’d like to see taken into consideration. Number one, it’d be incredibly nice if a mechanic were out into place to sell, dismantle, or discard old equipment. I’ve got so many exp badges laying around my inventory that I don’t need, and would love to clean it up some. Secondly, I wasn’t expecting the dungeon from the Absolute Zero Chain episode to permanently disappear when beaten, and still have a lot of kills to go to get the enemy study trophies from there. Doing it in Another Dungeon could take days, if not weeks of work, so it’d be cool if this dungeon could be added to the Records Room. I know it’s unlikely since it’s not part of the main story but hey, gotta ask right? :p But yeah, overall I’m very pleased with this game. Looking forward to continue playing.
Edit: okay so I found out how to get back to that dungeon. XD Inventory Management would still be a nice feature though.

  • Good RPG game

I’ve played this game for almost a year. So far, I am enjoying it. It requires a lot of grinding to gets gems for new characters, or their different styles, and materials for weapons and equipment. The story is decent but not at the level of Chrono Trigger. The graphics are nice for a side scroller. The music is well composed. The only thing that dropped my rating is the lack of a skip dialog option. I’ve read the same request on many reviews on here. I get that the developers spend time writing the dialog for each story, character, and side quest, but they all take too long and eventually I lose interest especially with waiting for every character’s expression and pauses. Please!!! Add a skip option. Nearly every other game has it. The game is lengthy enough with all the leveling and grinding. Sometimes, I just want to log in and play for a few minutes and progress at a decent rate without being bogged down by countless lines of conversations. I do hope the developers listen to their customers. I had hoped a skip option was included in the last update but I was sadly disappointed.

Other than that, still a fun game to play but time will tell.

  • This game is the best mobile gacha game

I’ve had this game for awhile now and I was in love with it. There’s so much f2p stuff to get and do. Yes it’s a gacha game and it take a lot of rng to get the units you want but all most all the 5* are OP as they can carry you all for most of the content, and by the time your stuck you’ll have about 2-3 more 5*. The problem I’m going to explain is called lower gap which happen with the new and huge update making alot of of the old 5* look like child’s play. Is it cool that these new characters are OP? Yes. Is it annoying that I can’t get them Bc I’ve done almost all the quest that give me gems to get these new characters? Yes. Even with this huge power gap, it’s still and amazing game all around. If you never played this game yet definitely give it a try as you’ll be able to, not will you only get OP units, but you’ll see that this game is massive. The music is a masterpiece. The story gives me great xenoblade and chorno tigger vibes, and honestly if you didn’t play those games it’s still a good story. There’s so much extra content that I even forget what I’m doing sometimes. The best part tho is the fact that the company is constantly updating the game. New characters, more story, more events, more extra content, etc. I really do hope you give this game a try as it’s held my attention for 1 year. Thank you for reading this

  • Amazing F2P RPG

I can’t remember how I found out about this game (I think it was a Facebook ad), and I was skeptical it was just going to be another waifu game with pretty pixel girls and no plot. I’ve never been happier to be wrong.

This is an outstanding game with good storytelling and a simple yet rich combat system. The best part is once you’re done with the story, there’s tons more content to play - all for free. This is not a pay-to-win game. All of the content is available to f2p players. Getting the stones (in-game currency) is fairly easy for dedicated players, and in two years of playing I haven’t bought any. As a f2p player, I still have multiple teams of 5-star characters. The best part? New content is added almost monthly (if not more often than that). The developers do a wonderful job providing additional content for the game regularly, and it is all free.

If you like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger or other games like those, download Another Eden right now. You won’t regret it.

  • Unofficial Chrono Trigger sequel!!

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in gaming. The only explanation is that it is a “mobile game” which are historically trash. I assumed this would be horrible based on micro transactions alone but decided to give it a go due to the writer and composer. Holy cow.

Not only are the micro transactions in no way required if you are used to grinding in JRPGs, but they can *gasp* be genuinely helpful from time to time.

Beyond that, this is more of a sequel to Chrono Trigger than Chrono Cross was. There are Easter eggs everywhere for die hard fans. I’ve been waiting years for this game, and it has been hiding in plain site on the friggin App Store of all places. I typically despise playing games on my phone, but I’m over 10 hours in with this one so far, and I’m just scratching the surface (I’ve also spent $0 to get this far). I plan on throwing some money at the developers just to support it, as others have mentioned, so don’t let the in-app purchases turn you away. This is an insane game to be giving away. If you play it, you’ll understand why we are all volunteering our money regardless.

  • Chrono Trigger, meet your new match

This is the game I have been searching for, for years. It has so many of my favorite game elements in it, drawing inspiration from classics like Chrono Trigger (about 75% similar!!), Star Ocean, a bit of Xenogears, Final Fantasy, and more. If you are a millennial gamer who has nostalgia for older games, fit for a modern mobile device, this is absolutely the game for you. There is no paywall to this game, nor any need to pay to proceed in the game storyline. No energy that runs out - it is, truly, an RPG with no limits to how far you can progress at once. That element alone makes the game binge-worthy, but even more importantly, this game has a great plot, inspired by the highlights of the the best games, and has a philosophical approach that wows me for how deep the meaning of the storyline goes, similar in a way to Final Fantasy 9’s approach to determining what makes a soul. I honestly love this game, and I’m so happy to have found it. It’s exactly what I was seeking, and it feels like a breath of fresh air.
