  • i’m attached

I am a gacha game junkie and 8/10 games I play in the gacha rpg genre always results in me quitting eventually and feeling empty in my soul and in app purchases. i’ll search for a new game to give me that newbie high until i get bored, but not with another eden. one thing that makes it stand out is how attachable and like able the story and characters are. while given you can’t skip the storyline dialogue anyways, it turns out to be so good and captivating that you grow to love each character. the game is very at your own pace which is another plus. i’ll go weeks without playing the game sometime because life gets busy, but whenever I hop back on i’m reminded how much I love the game. it’s not perfect and has some tedious grinding aspects and your classic gacha rpg drills, but the good thing is that you don’t have to spend money to “succeed”. the game gives you plenty of summoning stones and a decent amount of 5 star characters that can carry you through the game, especially the Persona 5 collab. overall, it’s a heartwarming, pleasant game that always brings me joy. also, soundtrack is amazing.

  • Great game but...

This game really is one of the best if not the best mobile games I’ve ever played. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because late in the game it becomes very tedious to get strong enough to progress, taking weeks of grinding to promote any character, you can only get so many gems a week from farming and it’s not very much considering how much late game classes cost to upgrade. The rng can be absolutely mortifing, trying to get a chant script to upgrade one character has a .02% of dropping in very hard dungeons or it costs 400 gems ( you’re limited to 120 a week from farming ) and you need those gems to get the other tomes needed to get your characters other required items. For example, your main character needs 10 special tomes that you can only get 4 per week, 90 of a certain other tome that you might get 2 of per dungeon run, 30 of another tome that if your lucky you might get 1 every other run, and the notoriously difficult to obtain chant script that you need 5 of, you might see one in 100 dungeon runs. Oh and your limited to 10 normal dungeons that don’t even drop a chant script, and 5 very hard dungeon runs per day! So you get 5 chances a day to get a .02% drop. Insane. I quit playing this after i did the math, you have to do this with every character you play with too...

  • Slightly off the mark

There’s a lot to like about this game. Music is amazing, art is pretty good, the story is engaging and combat is solid. But the first thing that irks me is summoning, we simply can’t do it that often. I feel like I can only do a 10 summon once a month as F2P. Normally I’d be ok with that if I can just play the game with what I have but that’s the other thing. I’ve hit roadblocks in the story where I had to have been doing something wrong.. right? I’m currently stuck on a boss where I clearly do laughable damage compared to previous bosses and enemies I had just encountered. Maybe it’s not my units? Ok, I just have to level up then, but that’s another issue. The flow of the game seems good until something abrupt like a boss stops you. Thing is, for the current area I’m in, grinding is unbearably slow. On top of that, there doesn’t seem to be many items to heal from wherever or help me level.

Maybe I’m playing the game wrong, but from a design standpoint, that’s simply a design flaw- you don’t blame the user when they can’t figure what to do with your product and this sums my problems with this game at times.

  • Fantastic game, awesome story...but armor hard to come by

Without a doubt, story is fresh and funny, side quests are fun with a ton of very mature dialogue and compelling events. The amount of quality dialogue and pithy statements is alone worth the download. The game’s stories are worth experiencing for itself. And gameplay is enjoyable and quick. No super long fights or meaningless categories of character traits in the game.

My one negative (and thus the 4-star) However, the grinding required for armor is too costly. All of my characters are at level 49. did every quest available, even hit a few of the dungeons and not one of my characters has even level 30 armor!!!

This is even more unfortunate when you consider there are three tier equipment at each level. Basic, advanced, and dungeon equipment. And even at that, I haven’t gotten one single set for any of my 30+ characters!!

While the game masters the free-to-play system, there isn’t even a way to buy the equipment, so I’m left at the prospect of grinding for hours and hours.

That...is unfortunate and a turnoff. Though I still pickup the game for the gameplay and story of side quests. Again, the story is worth every minute. Awesome and powerful. Would make this a Five-Star for acknowledgement and possible fix. I would expect performing the quests should get you at least the basic armor, as without them it gets significantly harder in later levels to run around with sub-level 30 armor.

  • Great game...bad patches?

The game itself is amazing. And I can’t express enough how much I love that you keep content in the game, instead of making it time-limited, it allows players both casual and hardcore to progress at their own pace.

That being said, nearly every update you put out I have seen the same comments from most of the community, that the download screen stops or they get an error and after repeated attempts and several different “solutions” are ultimately forced to do the same thing each time...uninstall and then reinstall the game, just so that download will go through and they can get back to playing their game. I’m not sure why this is an ongoing issue and has yet to be resolved, but please look into it! Maybe start by putting a poll up on your Facebook page or whatever other means and ask players if they had issues with the downloads, of those that say yes, ask them what devices and such they use, or whatever other info you need, so that you can try to fix this issue.

Thanks for reading my comment and I look forward to a reply and some solutions being made.

  • Constantly crashes, not worth playing.

This game has been doing nothing but crashing, to the point I don’t even wanna play it anymore, it’s a great game, it’s fun and an good rpg but with it crashing every 5 minutes or less it’s become frustrating and aggravating to the point that it’s not worth playing. It’s not my internet since other games don’t crash and I haven’t had any issues with any other games except this one, it all started a week ago after your update, I’ve done research online and other people are experiencing the same crashing issues since your update and the company isn’t doing anything about it. Another thing that ruins this game is the horrible drawing rates for characters, I spent 2000 chrono stones in two separate limited drawings and got 4-5 ciels in each for a total of 9 ciels in 2 drawings where he wasn’t even a high rated character pick or the main characters to get, that’s ridiculous and seems like a rigged way to get people to spend more stones and buy more, also the prices to buy stones is ridiculous as well for a game with no multiplayer or online gameplay. If these problems were fixed then I’d give a 5 star rating, otherwise this game has disappointed me.

  • Unique in a gacha game

This game is unique is the sense that it’s a gacha game, but it doesn’t feel like you’re playing a gacha game. It’s more like an old-time rpg (snes through the PS2 era) that you don’t need every character in the game to be the best. You also play against the story, not other people, so it’s really your fault if you don’t play it right and not luck or skill.

The use of gems in this game is unique as well. Unlike other gacha games that uses gems for everything, this game only uses them for getting characters and reviving them if you die. Of course, you can pay for them, but it’s not obligatory to get ahead of the game, and there are so many quests in this game that you’ll get enough gems to play the game. Weapons also help you out, but also unlike the other gachas, this game’s weapons don’t have random stats and not based on luck for stats. You just need to get the materials and the blacksmith will buy them from you automatically. Different materials are needed for different weapons, but it’ll Guide you to the locations for the weapons.

Overall, I don’t need to spend money on this game, but because it’s so well crafted I would just to support them. Especially since it has Yasunori as one of the composers for this game and the characters are relatable and funny at times, and it has it’s sad moments too. It really makes it have a Chrono/Xenogears vibe to it, and I enjoyed those games immensely.

  • Wonderful game, but RNG can be brutal

I love, love, LOVE Another Eden, from top to bottom on gameplay, music, design, story, everything. But man, the gatcha just frustrates me, but not even for myself.

My husband is only 4 or so draws behind me, but has only ever managed to get 1 character at 5* to my 18 total from draws (some repeats). I managed to unlock one other in-game one for him so far vs having obtained every single one of them for myself. He’s the one who got me into the game, and we got it within the first week of global launch, and it makes me feel so awful to know how much he struggles with the content and is stuck behind me because he just can’t get any further without more powerful characters. The paid draw prices are steep, far more than any other gatcha-based games I’ve played before, and he’s forbidding me from gift-buying him one of the special discounts because of it.

I know it sounds so spoiled to say, but it really bums me out; I love this game so passionately and miss being able to talk about the story with him as I’m experiencing it, because it will still likely be months at best before he has a hope of seeing it for himself.

  • The real deal

This is it. I have been searching for the perfect J-RPG for a while and this is it. When you are looking about the true RPG you are looking for pedigree. This is it, look at the creators. This is the real school of RPG. Hard work, deep story, beautifull visuals, not many people can do this, only the old school JRPG masters can make a game like this.

Dont be fooled by flashy graphics and schoolgirl outfits of other games, this is the true RPG. It is even better than the gold standard RPGs like old final fantasy etc, because those games were made for a different era, when people had time to burn. This game is made for people who enjoy the old school games but also live in the modern world, where they dont have all the time to grind for 5 hours just to beat one boss. The skill system is also updated and very easy to learn. Everything is so clever, so perfect like a fine glass of wine.

I dont even know how it is possible that they gave us this game for free. I thank the developers, the creators, the artists. You made a masterpiece that took me back in time when we fell in love with the RPG genre. Long live the old school Japan RPG. They made a game to not only keep people occupied, but to touch their soul.
