  • Just Good Enough to Get You Hooked

This is a VERY GOOD GAME. It has a compelling story, like able main characters, and decent enough gameplay. It’s nothing new, in and of itself, but remarkably well done.
The story characters are enough to clear the main game (through chapter 25). I did it. They update the game frequently with new characters to tackle the Daily Dungeons and Postgame to entice you. Then it’s up to RNG.
You get freebies for playing. I’ve been playing for six months, and have done roughly 250 Summons, amassing 5 5 star characters (not counting Aldo, Chance Encounters, or Miyu) and 5 4 stars who can be upgraded. I’ve spent no money. The odds aren’t great, but they’re just rewarding enough to keep me logging in.
I wish upgrading story characters wasn’t so hard, or their light/shadow completion increases on another dungeon had better rates, but overall, my only real issues are the difficulty of securing chant scripts for upgrades and the mind numbing tedium of fishing. It causes the game to feel like a chore.

  • this resolve crash problem & recover your profile

okay, so i found out this is a way to recover your profile easier than going through the developers’ way. make sure you connect with facebook first! after 1 or 2 updates, the game will start to crash once awhile, eventually it will crash every 30mins or so, you need to delete the game and reinstall it. do all the necessary step to get to the new game screen BUT don’t start a new game, instead press the “help” button on the bottom left, then select “connect facebook” it will take you to the facebook login page, log in and a message will pop up saying “you have previously log into a device, would you like to continue” hit yes. the game will do it’s thing, downloading etc, once finish it will take you to the continue screen. hit continue and you will be back where you left off! this help me out alot even though it took some times but it beats the developers’ wat of recovering your profile. who can remember their game id #, how many chrono stones they have, or when the date they started the game or last date they played.... maybe last date. anyway, i hope this help you guys out.

  • Chances to get usable characters can be extremely low

This is a good old-fashioned rpg game, if you decide to play on the free tier. However, for any reasonable gacha system, if you spend $200+ on a single gacha, you should at least expect some usable character out of it, or at least something that can give you at least some improvement on your lineup. This is usually not the case for this game. The chance of getting a desired character can be extremely low, and if you are unlucky, the you can easily spend $200+ on a single character but get zero reasonable improvement on your team (all 3 and 4 stars that are not usable at all for this game). If you are not extremely rich, I’d highly recommend play on the free tier, which would be feasible to go through the majority of the story. The game must provide some mechanism to reward those who spent a lot of $$$ on it, or otherwise I don’t think it’s worth it to spend any money since unless you spend $2000+ it would not provide a reasonable amount of advantage over the free tier

  • Great game, could use some fixes

Update: the team got back to me and I was able to get my game back. In my opinion, this kind of thing shouldn’t happen in the first place, but they were very quick to respond. At the very least I think the game could benefit from an FAQ dedicated to common errors and how to resolve them in detail.

I’ve had a ton of fun with this game so far, and I’ve sunk almost as much time into it as a lot of the console games I play. There’s so much to love about this game, especially if you’re a fan of classic JRPGs: stunning visuals, beautiful soundtrack, great gameplay, and a super intuitive movement control scheme (which is surprising for a phone game).

HOWEVER. I’ve recently encountered and have heard other people have issues with an update loading issue, as far back as several months ago. No patch, no resolution, nothing. Now I’m stuck here wondering if I’ll ever be able to get my game back, with all the time and effort I’ve invested. Kinda blows. If they resolve the issue, I’ll gladly bump my review up to 5 stars.

  • Gatcha is ruining games

Keep in mind I do understand you DONT HAVE TO SPEND MONEY but the gatcha system seems a little ridiculous, the game is a solo player not a multiplayer and with that the price of the draws are a bit high. Nobody is competing for top spots, no ranking system and it’s not a p2w game. Not saying I haven’t been a whale once or twice but $80 for only 3 draws is a bit much, especially considering that in those draws you have a very small chance to obtain a 5 star character which isn’t uncommon among games today but give me a break, of the handful of times I’ve done paid draws I pull multiples of the same character and I mean MULTIPLE. Not sure if it’s a bug only some people experience but the couple times I have pulled a 5 star it’s been Annabelle 4 out of 5 times. Frustrating when you consider that she’s not even on many of the newer banners and has small percentage to pull. All I’m saying is that if you have a certain 5 star, there should be a system in place to prevent you from continually pulling the same character again and again and again. I suggest this because it’s a solo player game, people want to use new characters without shelling out lots of cash for a slim chance of getting something new. New characters are new content with their own stories and quests so having to pay outrageous amounts to access that is a bad mark for this game even though it has amazing artwork and nostalgic feels of any classic rpg.

  • Great game with game breaking issues

I believe that this is a superb JRPG for it being a free to play mobile game. I’m not going to nit pick the stuff about the gacha system and chrono stones. They aren’t perfect but I’m not complaining because the game is so well made. Actually only two things break this game. 1.)UPDATES- almost every update kills your game because you will receive an error 6 which states that you need to switch WiFi connections. Now if you search around a lot of people have this issue. Okay no problem right? Just delete and download again. Buuut the recovery system is worse than you think. Even if you connect to Facebook that doesn’t even do anything and to actually recover you need to remember ludicrous details of your last play such as specific number of chromos you had and what characters you had. This has been happening to people who have played and payed in game for a long time and people starting to play. They have everything perfect besides these 2 blaring issues. Now that doesn’t mean they can’t fix it but for now I shall keep this game off my phone until they fix this update issue.

  • Was looking for a new game for a road trip.

After playing many other RPG games on the phone I was left feeling disappointed. If they didn’t cost over 5 dollars they were bad and even some that were over 5 still were not good. I was hesitant to download and invest my time into this game because most free apps are pay to have the best experience, no adds, etc. After seeing some reviews I decided to try it out. So far I have had a fantastic experience. I have been playing for about 7 to 8 hours and not once seen any notifications about how how there is some sale for the in game currency or adds. It feels like an actual game that I’ve spent about $50 on. The music is great. The combat is simple and challenging enough. The story so far has been very interesting. I could go on and on but what I am trying to say is that this game is good. 10/10 would recommend.👌

  • Beautiful, stunning, and self paced

I downloaded Another Eden roughly a month after it’s global release and I have been hooked since. The graphics of the game are beautiful, the music fits the scenery, and the character designs are unique (aside from natural 3 stared characters). Each character has its own special story line and unique abilities so you can plan for upcoming battles. This is a classic RPG where you can’t rush into area to area and expect to bulldoze the storyline. You need to to take the time and level the characters and upgrade your weapons. You have the time to do so. This isn’t your typical mobile game where you have to pay to win. It’s single player only and the game gives you plenty of in game currency to take part in the gotcha banners. Roughly every 2 weeks the game adds new updates that are permanently added to the game so if you put it down for a bit there is none of that sense of feeling that you have missed something or now behind other players. The only sort of daily login you have is 30 in game currency a day, which in my opinion is not bad at all.

Another Eden is beautifully designed and completely free. It keeps you playing even after you beat the main content. If you are a fan of classic RPGs this is the game for you. If you are looking for something competitive against other players then walk away.

  • Amazing so far

Going into this game my main concern was the gacha system, and while I’m nowhere near finished with the game (only about 7 hours in) I can safely say that this game is far from p2w. Unlike most hero collecting games where the gacha system is heavily baked into the game and your overall team strength, this game feels like it was competed without the gacha system in mind, only implementing it afterwards as a way to make some amount of money off this free game. In fact, the gacha is really an afterthought, for me at least. The game is more than playable with the characters given to you through the story, and while the currency used for summoning is scarce and not exactly cheap, I’ve never felt like I needed to have a crazy rare 5 star gacha pull hero to progress. The game itself has great visuals, especially for a mobile game. I’m enjoying the story a lot more than I thought, it being extremely reminiscent of a Chrono Trigger. The combat may be a bit lacking in depth for a lot of the hardcore or longtime turn based combat fans, but I feel it suites the game fine. Overall a great mobile game!

  • Masato strikes again!!!

So I downloaded this game this morning and, since I didn’t have any plans for today, I haven’t been able to put it down. I just got to Ratle and I’m loving this game so far. It’s very reminiscent of the Chrono series (my favorite games of all time) and even some of the music seems to be just altered scores of Chrono Cross music. Ratle is clearly the SS zelbess theme from CC just remixed a bit. A spiritual successor if I’ve ever seen one. And the fact that it’s on mobile and it’s free is quite bizarre but very much welcomed. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but the beginning was rather boring and not very creative. But after a certain someone gets taken, time travel happens and it really picks up from there. I don’t know how long this game is but I hope I’ve barely scratched the surface. The story is intriguing, the music fits very well for each mood, and the combat is pretty fun. If you enjoyed the Chrono games or JRPGs in general I’d say download it. I see there are micro transactions but at this point I don’t see any way I could possibly run up against a pay wall. I died twice to over leveled enemies I had no business fighting but story progression enemies haven’t given me too much trouble at all. I’ll be coming back once I get farther to update this review. 👍
