Keeps Freezing

Overall I love the app and its design, it’s user friendly and convenient.

My big issue with the app is that it is very buggy. It freezes up on me every time I use it. If I navigate away from the app to add an item to an online shopping order when I come back to the app it is frozen and I have to completely close the app and reopen it. This happens multiple times every time I use the app. Makes it useless.

Subscription per year not per month

Be careful it advertises it as per month per will charge your card annual rate.

Terrible from nutritional perspective

Signed up for the premium plan, went through the questionnaire that asked me questions about my biggest problems (weight, cravings, planning) and what I would like to achieve and why other diets didn’t work for me (the food was not good) then popped out terribly boring and monotonous meal plan for a week that is a) not achievable for week number one (2 small meals with a massive calorie count) b) is monotonous, using the same ingredients for most meals. How exactly is this addressing any cravings?
I picked a meal plan with two meals only and when I open the meals’s page, the breakfast ideas jump into my face.
There’s no way to see the nutritional value for the meal plan for the week, I cannot see how much protein or calories the meals have for example, unless I click myself through to it.
How exactly the plan like that in anyway sustainable on a long-term basis, what about fibre and micronutrients? I think it’s terrible that it says it’s a science-based App because the meal plan seems useless.

Little problem

I’ve just downloaded the app again after not using it for a few months. The app has told me a few times that it needs to be updated. Current version on my phone is 3.30.0.
Version listed on the App Store is the same.

Good but can’t adapt

This is a good app and the meal quality/ideas are good.
There are some things I think it could do with. Such as showing a breakdown of the nutritional value in each product in the meal (approximately) / being able to edit the meal should you want to. ie plain protein being used, how many more carbs would it be for a flavoured protein I already have. You cant adjust the recipes to what you have available.
Be good to be able to make up some meals yourself and enter the info in etc.

Update

It ketos asking me to update and goes here but says it’s updated but I don’t have communities in bottom right corner ?

Useless other than for recipes

Stupidly I signed up for a year not realising how restrictive the app is - and the “join the community”, when I asked for technical help the reply email said it is non-existent due to lack of support so really a con. That needs to be taken out of the advertising as it’s a fraudulent claim I was taken in by.

The good point is the fab recipes (hence the one star) however you are restricted to auto generated “meal plans” and it’s a huge faff to pre-plan a week’s menus using your own choice of dishes. Adding individual foods or your own recipes is impossible, I requested support to see if I could do it and the email I received back totally ignored that question. My gut feeling is this is just an AI managed app - and charging expensively for the privilege!

It’s easy to log and track health parameters. (hence the second star)

Overall I’m hugely disappointed, it’s just a recipe database with little functionality as as a food diary.

I am going to request a refund … let’s see how honourable they are.

Fact based guidance to improve health

My wife and I discovered the Diet Doctors app about 90 days ago when my doctor wanted to put me on statins. I didn’t want one more pill to take everyday for the rest of my life. I researched many websites and settled here because it is easy to understand, scientific advice on what and how to eat to improve your overall health.

My wife and I have both improved our health dramatically over the last 90 days. We have lost 65lbs between us, reduced/eliminated our blood pressure meds, my GERD is gone and my wife’s arthritis is in remission with no medication. That’s why we gladly give this app 5 stars.

Unethical money grabbers.

Absolutely terrible. I wish I could give it no stars. I signed up for a trial but didn’t get a chance to properly try and unsubscribed. They charged me anyway $99 USD despite me not having the app or a login and won’t reply to my request for refund or help. So now they have my money and I don’t even have access to use it. This is how they make their money. Feels totally unethical and I warn you to stay away.

Shopping list too difficult

This app used to have an awesome shopping list feature that compiled the ingredients for your selected meals and you could add other stuff too, like laundry detergent etc. But with the newer update, it’s terrible. It’s almost impossible to find the shopping list in the app (go to the meal plan page) and when you do find it, if you want to add anything to it, it puts the entire meal plan on it for the week instead of allowing you to pick your meals. So disappointing!!! Please bring back the old list!
Also the new “clean” look makes finding most things difficult.
