Solid app

My only suggestion is maybe have the letters appear in a row going down. Top can be 20/200 and the bottom is 20/20. Would make great for bedside screening

Response from developer

Are you suggesting to have multiple rows? or you want to 2 meters test distance? I am aware that doctors have been using the app in wards. Shall we have a conversation by Email? please send to s AT Fonlow dot com or just use the app's "Send Message to Developer" feature.

Please add 20/400

I see bed side patients and most of them are low vision patients. The VA chart app I used to use is no longer supported so I downloaded this app. This app is great because it allows me to test with numbers (most dementia patients cannot read letters but they can still read numbers) l Wish this app had 20/400 and beyond. Could you add larger optotypes?

But if John the patient can not see 20/200, isn't he already legally blind. Nevertheless, you can still test 20/400. For example, change the app's test distance to 10 feet, but actually test at 20 feet with an optotype of 20/200, the largest the app can display.

Paid $5 for there to be no shapes!!

My toddler doesn’t know his letters yet but he does know his shapes. I thought it had shapes but it turns out I paid for nothing.

Response from developer

It was designed for children older than 6 as described in the app description. You may ask App Store for refund.

Well written app

The mirror mode is handy and interesting.

So far so good

At least I am almost certain that my boy is not having myopia for now after staying indoor for weeks. Nevertheless, it is still worth of visiting a local optometrist later.

Updated

Some other apps work with only old iPhones, and this one works with the latest ones.

It looks promising

Is it possible to have multiple letters in one line for testing lazy eyes?

Response from developer

Testing amblyopia requires more than just multiple optotypes in one row of an eye chart which may test lazy eyes roughly. Nevertheless, having multiple optotypes in one row is in the roadmap of this app.

This was free - now it’s not.

Update #2: Why are you reporting my concern to Apple support? My issue is NOT about MY purchase experience. My issue is about the many other patients who will need this app in the near future. Give THEM a break. Reduce the price for THEM. HELP THEM, not me.
================
Update: If it was just a temporary 1 week free trial, why not extend that for several more weeks to help people out? Or maybe reduce the price to $0.99? Seems like that would be reasonable if you are restricted from changing it to free.

================
Hundreds of patients will now suffer as they can’t afford spending money on a single visual acuity check. Shame on the developer for taking advantage of the disadvantaged. Hold down on the comment and like it so it rises to the top of most helpful. Time to look for another option.

There had been a 1 week promotion during which the purchase price was zero. App Store does NOT allow a free app to become a paid app, and this app has been a paid app. And you may request a refund from App Store.

What’s the point?

If free, this would a useful addition to the urgent need for teleophthalmology in the COVID 19 age. But as a charged for app, why bother.

In times of need

It’s great you had a promotion for one week. Considering your app is being recognised as well developed maybe you could consider its price during the crisis period as some patients can’t afford $5
