  • Too many upsell ads and functionality errors

    After spending $hundreds on the product it’s disappointing and insulting how cluttered the app is with ads to subscribe and pay for withings+ It also can be pretty glitchy with login (it wouldn’t log me in properly after changing my associated email on the web app) then it mistakenly re-created 6 other user profiles (presumably because of improper idempotent design for multi-click errors). It also doesn’t support most of the basic features I care most about like csv export of my data. The web app export also seems to be broken for me, never receive the supposed email with my data. At least the interface is somewhat elegant even though the interaction design is definitely lacking. #Update Changed from 3 to 2 stars for poor customer service. There is no way for me to reach them. They hide behind a customer FAQ page. No phone number to call. No support email listed. The live-chat feature is completely broken “couldn’t load messages” is all I see. Could they please actually provide a way to get some support on the broken data export feature? Still haven’t received any email.
    #Update 2: For real how can I get some support from this company? No phone number to call. Just let me send you an email please! The supposed “live chat” function is still broken. It’s been over a month and still no support. Worst customer support of any company I can remember. They are straight-up hiding from their customers.

  • Garbage App

    This app is absolute garbage. So buggy! It kept saying my password was incorrect, and that I should try again in 15 minutes (not incorrect, by the way) yet it would immediately accept the temporary passcode sent to my email instead. Speaking of which: I have to wait for that email every time I access the app for some reason. I tried to go into the settings and change it to utilize a different option—chose the 4-digit passcode which worked many times until it suddenly didn’t anymore and kept telling me that THE SAME passcode I had been using for the last 10+ logins was incorrect. Further… trying to re-sync this scale to my phone after not using it for a while was ridiculous! It kept giving me an error, refusing to connect to my wifi. I tried all the troubleshooting options including forgetting the device via Bluetooth and even did a factory reset on the scale. Finally gave up and tried the iPad instead and that worked which now made it sync to my phone. Lastly only some of the stats sync in real time. Vascular age keeps saying I need one more measurement taken even though I’ve been on the scale about 15 times. This is horrendous. Terrible, terrible app for such an expensive product. I don’t know why there are so many positive reviews here when a quick Google search will tell you that many others are having the same issues with syncing devices, and have been for YEARS!

  • Severe app issues

    Sleep tracking doesn’t properly log your full sleep. If you get out of bed before you were registered as being asleep , ie you were tossing and unable to fall asleep for some time , then get up to get a drink of water and get back in bed, the app resets you time of going to bed to when you got back into bed after returning. That is wrong - it should keep you registered as awake for the full time so long as the time you got out of bed is say less than 20 minutes (or configurable).
    That I tossed and turned for 1.5 hrs and then got up to take a sleep aide and then got back into bed and it took 35 mins to fall asleep is getting recorded as 35 mins to fall asleep. It should be 2+ hrs to fall asleep.

    Those pointless notifications in app that are force locked to be at the top of the home page are an annoyance that hides the information I actually want down the screen. The only thing I want to see the nightly sleep summary or the last weigh in , is the devices in order of most recent. The rest of the general tips and hurrahs I can really do without. I know I had or didn’t have a good nights sleep and know what matters to sleep. You forcing a paragraph d text and graphic to tell me as much before the night summary wastes everyone’s time and causes a bad impression on your brand name Withings .
