5years review

I bought my watch 5 years ago because I liked the aesthetic and the app tracked my steps, which was all I needed at the time. This turned into a great decision, 5years on, I still have the watch, I get around 7-10 days of battery, which in my book is good, I also have the scales and blood pressure devices, both are used regularly and help my husband and I manage our health. The app is always improving and is easy to use. The information is presented in a format that makes sense and easy to understand. Definitely recommend this to my friends.

Poor customer service

I have had the scales for many months, working fine. Then I had an issue with my sister, it wouldn’t give her the ECG option. I asked the question why and it’s taken over 4 weeks to get myself back onto the scales with the correct information for me. This is because I deleted my account when everything was getting very ridiculously confusing. With Withings asking me for a screen shot of my sisters email on the scales, when she was only a member. It has taken 5 weeks to get me and Withings+ recognised. They don’t appear to be able to answer simple questions and keep repeating themselves with information that wasn’t asked for. I have just spent another hour trying to get the scales to operate with Withings+ finally I have managed it myself without following their instructions which were frankly no use. I hope I never have to deal with their customer services again. A simple phone call would have solved this issue 5 weeks ago. It would appear they don’t do phone calls, receiving or making.

App needs some basic work

Having used this in the past I’d not really noticed the issues as I was only reading results off the screen and putting into a spreadsheet. Now, having seen how results can be concatenated into reports and various ways of looking at the data are available I’ve delved into it a little deeper. I’m using this app on an iPhone 15 pro, a 12.9 iPad Pro and an 11in iPad Pro.

Most iPads are using in landscape mode and this app just doesn’t support that properly, controls either disappear off the bottom or aren’t visible at all with no ability to scroll up to see them. I didn’t even know a blood pressure graphical representation was available until i saw a half word at the bottom of the screen and touched it to see if it would scroll - it didn’t, it launched a screen I’d never seen before. Then, I couldn’t replicate it because the display was different next time I tried. Worse, that behaviour is different on both iPads so it’s clear the app has not been designed with different sizes and orientations in mind.

In short, if it’s just an iPhone app, fine, label it as such, if it’s an iPad app, you should fix it because it’s terrible.

Really? Worst update ever

Where shall I start… wanted to start with a review and it came up with a pre worded text: crash blah blah… fix it.
No. It’s not about a crash.
The latest update removed all my latest achievements, basically defaulted all the configs of my watch within the app. I had to reconfigure it from scratch. Set up a fib, ecg, etc. And comes with all the annoying ads that I should know about this and that… I’ve been using the same watch for years… if you need to work on the database, it’s fine. But starting from scratch? The database migration has failed I think. Actually, part of my historical data was there. Sooo many bugs.
And my scan watch started to collect fog and moisture under the glass like since 2 months ago. Same as my original Withings (before Nokia).
The gps settings always on doesn’t work lately on iOS (latest, not beta), no track/ map is available after workout. ( bike ride started from the watch…) anyhow. I cry back the team before Nokia.

Not so smart _scales

The scales measure my weight, display the measure then, its suppose to aend through to it app. It doesn't, It has gone as long as three days before i have had to manually intervene and “push” it through to my iphone by pushing a button on back of scales. Now, it will update my ipad but my iphone tells me its uptodate- but the data is not there. I gave one star for the app.

Measurement data control

The installation of this app and control of read data is awful and miss-leading. When asked to connect with the health you are told to allow of writing and reading of all metrics. I was skeptical but as time was short I proceeded. Once logged in the app then reads and displays allot of data from the health app. Had I known this I wouldn't have allowed it. I don't need my measurements spread across different apps, the health app is the only location where all my measurements need to be. Worst still, once read there is no user control to delete data or refine the date it is collected from. This even causes weird issues with achievements (which you can't turn off?). I deleted my account to try and reset everything but even that takes 7 days. Scales returned as this app is dreadful for control of user data and control of user experience. If people don't need motivation, programs etc good UX design would allow those items to be removed surfacing only relevant information. Terrible experience.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the installation process and control of read data in our app. We take feedback seriously and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. Connecting your account to Apple Health and toggling "Allow Withings to read data from Apple Health" will make your data sync to the app. If you only want to allow Withings data to be written to Apple Health, you must not allow the read of data for Withings (only write). We understand that data privacy is important to you, and we want to assure you that we are committed to protecting your personal information. We will continue to work on improving the user experience and providing more control over the data that is shared with our app. With appreciation — Lyn, Withings Customer Service

It’s great except….

This app is full of info and even if you only use it to track your weight it’s very useful. My one issue with it is that it won’t record todays weight until the following day! I’d like to see it today and since my eyesight is so bad I cannot read my weight on the scales. I need to see it on the app. Why won’t it record the actual day?

Steer Clear to invasive

Written reviews in this before , just went to try it after not using for quite sometime, why would you want to set up an account and let these nosy Parker’s collect rand retain data / cookies and what ever else they collect , years ago , I think when it was Nokia , was really good . Now totally destroyed by this witherings outfit, blood pressure machine doesn’t even succeed a completed reading since these uselesss idiots continuously update it . Plenty other options out there!! Years ago this use to be a reliable piece of kit however nothing but issues with all the updates etc , failed readings trouble connecting when setting up on latest iPhone with all the latest version of everything installed , think the blood pressure monitor and app are now nothing but tech rubbish for for nothing , leave it all on the shelf and buy a model with physical connections witching’s Bluetooth connectivity is totally useless!! Had this Nokia blood pressure monitor for quite some time , use to work well once however seem to get nothing but failed readings all the time regardless of new batteries in monitor- think the App is probably causing issue . Very poor performance- wouldn’t rely on it if you needed to there must be better equipment available other than witherings..

Not user friendly

My husband invited me to a family account, but in the process it created an entirely different account, and then another when I tried to correct it. Couldn’t export or merge data, and the scale would slightly randomly assign my measurements to one of the profiles. Tried to delete the least used today and apparently it was the primary account, and took all the past year and more of data with it. Perhaps good riddance. I don’t need the scale to be smart and tell me the weather, but consistent recognition of my profile would be nice.

Doesn’t record weight, impossible to navigate ui

This is the absolute worst purchase I have made. I bought this scale thinking it would be awesome to have it sync to my phone and auto update in my health app.

Unfortunately it just doesn’t work. It looks like it’s working, the app notes it syncing to the scale every day, and I have managed to get 3 measurements in the last year to actually sync across the health apps.

The ui of the app itself is also not what you’d hope. Somehow, the only stats which are readily accessible are how many steps I’ve taken and my heart rate. In app for a scale. Make it make sense 😂

Anyway. Save yourself some money and just buy a regular scale this was not worth the money.
