This is a great app! I only wish it also had an advanced mode that has more eq level settings. And maybe a couple more preset sound modes and possibly a color editor where we get to customize and pick our own colors of the background in the videos.
Just suggestions for future updates! I absolutely love the app and use it quite frequently :)
I’ve been using this app for def over a year… I am impressed with the engineering, this app works flawlessly. I would give 5 stars if the team introduced an instant record widget, and I’d give you SIX stars for integration with iOS shortcuts for customizable recording workflows.
The design could maybe use a refresh, and some more options for the video export would be really fun to see too.
Overall, the product team did really quality work on this app.
It’s 5 stars for the quality and clean Dolby sound you get when recording. I only dock it a star because you are very limited on the export of your recordings. I wanted to use it to record clean voiceovers but text to myself seems to much of a pain and uploading to SoundCloud isn’t ideal for my need. If export (Airdrop?) to a standard audio format that I could import into a video app was easy, absolutely 5 stars.
This app would easily get 5 stars if exporting recordings was easier and if there was an option to sign in and save to the cloud. I can’t sync my recording with my other devices and sometimes my recording just fail to export and then they’re useless. Otherwise the audio quality for music comes out much much better than voice record.
I’ve used voice memos for years and it is an excellent tool for spontaneously capturing my ideas including songs. However, Dolby On is THE ideal tool for my songwriting. I would gladly pay for it… but it’s great that it is free. A simple interface with useful tools for sound processing.
Best recording app ever!!! Yes, there is always room for improvement. ie, maybe a double track, or maybe a play all feature on the recordings. But, that’s just nick picking. The playback sound is rivaled by none. Thanks to the developers and all their hard work!! Keep it up!
Best app for recording any activity, especially since it’s capturing the varied sounds (voices, music, etc.)with a cell phone! I thought using a cell phone recording for recording was weak because it was limited to its hardware… and thus suffered due to this… Wrong… this app will show you a sound quality that is beyond any recording app I’ve ever used by miles! The fact that it was free just makes it fantastic and with that I’d give a 6th star if I could… it would be great to expand some of the features… but no matter… this is the definitive best at its core objective! And I didn’t even discuss its video recording, images, and social sharing features!

This is music to our ears!! Thank you so much for your 5-star review!I really like using this app to record my rehearsals thru video or audio. I’ve recorded lots of our performances as well and I like how well it picks up sound. I also like how you can reduce the background noise, although there’s is bit of a robotic distortion when in use but very minimal. You can edit the treble, mid tones and bass and it also has sound presets you can use and you won’t be disappointed. You can also adjust the audio settings for video too. I mean it’s a really good app. 👍🏼

Thank you so much for your 5-star review!! We are happy when you are happy :DI’m loving this app, but sometimes the video records sideways, and I can’t figure out how to turn it. It’s kind of frustrating, because I never know when that’s going to happen until I’m done. That’s a lot of work to just delete and start over.
I am not a newbie; I have been using this app for more than two years, and recoded hundreds of audio clips, many of were irreplaceable. While reviewing how to record new files in “lossless” mode the app simply deleted all of my saved files.
ALL OF THEM!
No warning box,
no “are you sure?”
Just GONE.
There is no “undelete” function: no way to access the files. I DID NOT ASK TO DELETE ANYTHING, just was exploring haw to improve new recordings.
What’s insanely frustrating is that I know the files are still in my phone, no new recordings have been made. Just the program refuses to access.
I loved this program until now, be warned:
Unless you proactively share and store your files elsewhere THEY ARE AT RISK!! This should be an easy fix but the developers for Dolby On got lazy and I paid a heavy price.
