v2.48.0

November 15, 2023

- We've added a new kind of device setup flow in the app specifically for Equinox louvered roof systems. The other brand-name shade technologies use a "pairing" flow where the Bridge generates a new random remote control address and programs it into the shade motor. However, Equinox's control boxes require the Bridge to record and copy the remote's address and channel number. We now support this "hybrid" flow in the app. -- Please note that Bridge firmware v4.0.1 or higher is required for support of Equinox products. - You can now link ceiling fan lights to Smart by Bond wall switches configured in keypad mode. For example, let's say you have a Smart by Bond fan in your living room. You can now install a Craftmade WCSD-100 smart lighting dimmer and use it to control the light on the fan. Just set the dimmer to "keypad mode" in Advanced Settings, and then link the channel. - If you do happen to use a smart dimmer or smart switch in keypad mode, previously you had to switch back to "wired switch mode" in order to perform a firmware update. But now, you can update the switch without changing modes. Just go to Settings from the keypad's main screen and you can perform the upgrade there. - Fixes and improvements

- We've rethought the screens for Add a New Device. Now, instead of tapping on Remote Control, you first select the device type (Fan, Shade, etc.). This reflects the fact that Bond has shifted from being a way to copy remote controls to more of a first-class control experience. - We've also made the Scan QR Code button more prominent. Especially on iOS, scanning the QR Code on the back of the Bridge or other Bond-compatible product can speed up the setup process significantly. Let us know how you like it.

  • Bond over the years

I was an early adopter and continue to use bond to control my fans.
It’s been awhile since utilizing their support but it needs to be said.
They were very helpful and bent over backwards to work with me when device problems occurred. Even though I haven’t delved deeper into the additional capabilities, I want to say thank you to them and to say to you, give Bond a try, what they accomplished, way before many others, is just amazing. Looking forward to continued use of an amazing device and know that it has saved me so much time and trouble over the years I’ve used it by making some technologies inherently better.
  • Great concept, works flawlessly for most devices

For things like lights and ceiling fans, this app is a breeze to setup and works exactly like you would expect. A few strange conditions if you control the device from the native remote it may cause the state to be represented incorrectly in the app. Biggest improvement I could see is in blind operation. We have Smith & Noble blinds, which I would think are relatively common remote control blinds. The app allows me to raise and lower the bottom of the blind, but the native remote allows me to raise and lower the top of the blind as well. There is no configuration for that in the Bond app, so if the blinds aren’t fully open or fully closed, I really cannot use the Bond app to control my blinds. Still, for what is supported, it works really well.
  • Love the fam and now a fan of Bond IO

Totally thrilled with the ceiling fan we bought for the bedroom. The enclosed case fan vs blades is great. Very happy. The dimmable LED light is perfect. Gone are the low hanging globes and harsh glare lights. LED is a simply a wonderful enhancement. And now for the remote. I held the remote in my hand and thought “who gets control of this and how long before it gets lost?”… maybe in it under the bed. What’s this? It comes with a Bond IO interface! I can download an app to my phone and control the fan and light!!! How awesome! And it’s quite simply been that… awesome. Completely satisfied with this fan and light and am considering buying more of these.
