Reviews of Path of Adventure

  • It’s a great game, and here’s why:

I am absolutely addicted to this game. It draws from the imaginative side of the brain in such a way that one can picture the world in their mind based off of the text provided. This game is not for the faint hearted. I have played the easy level on multiple occasions only to fail frequently around level 34/50 and only a few times have I actually reached level 47+/50. On the most recent trial, I got as far as 50/50, but died upon seeing the hydra on the ~2nd round. Which leads me to another thing I enjoy about this game, the storyline loosely changes every time you play it (based on your decisions and on the form of the game). This game has many ways to gain information on how to improve your own approach to the game within the story structure, but you have to be willing to apply it (unlike me 😅). I think this game has a valuable lesson, that failure helps to get you further the next round by learning/avoiding unnecessary problems and planning for solutions. In conclusion, get the game and decide whether you can persevere enough to keep playing it.
  • Fun game, may luck be on your side

Edited my initial review. This game is really fun, but it is extremely hard, and I guess that’s a good thing. I thought it was impossible to win unless you pay. But with a little luck, strategy and several enchanted items I was able to crush the giant! I was stoked and it may not have been that exciting if it wasn’t difficult. I still do think easy mode was harder then it should be, as it may discourage other players like it initially did myself.

To the developers: I’d likely pay for this game if it was a 1-5$ fee for the full APP with no extra pay content to follow. I’m not the type to spend money on game add ons. I think if you made the easy mode just a little bit easier, and had a free lite mode available with just east mode you could get players hooked and motivate them to buy the full version. I’m tempted to buy a revive just to support your efforts in making the game. I do like others idea of keeping your stats rather then starting from scratch each level. Could be cool to pick characters with different starter stats even in the beginning levels. Great job and thanks for the entertainment *lowers to one knee as if to swear loyalty to the crown*
  • Excellent concept, TPK difficulty

I’m an old school ttrpg player who hasn’t been able to get a game together in a decade and I’ve been looking for a game to fill that void. I had high hopes for this game, but once I finished the tutorial I’ve been stuck on the first level. You need extremely good luck and unwavering attention to detail in order to even get to the end-level boss and once you do they’re ridiculously OP. You need to simultaneously purchase all the weapons you can afford, support equipment and health potions to use at the final boss, but can only afford to buy half of the items you need. It’s challenging, and I don’t mind that, but it seems that you have to pay .99 to finish the level, and I’m strictly anti pay to win. I understand that the developer has to pay the bills but so do I. I plan to update my review if I ever manage to progress without paying for a resurrection.
(Edit) After finally getting to the boss a second time and carefully marshaling my resources, I managed to barely defeat the creature with 2 hit points left. I think this game is still terribly difficult, but it may be possible to eventually level up without putting money into it. And if you have the $ to spare the dev deserves to be compensated for their work
