  • Garbage

    Useless and boring

Thanks for the feedback. Have you tried filling out a pyramid? We’ll also be adding more games you can play while you’re climbing in the near future. Hopefully that will decrease the useless and boring…ness of it
  • Interesting concept - confusing implementation

Its interesting to have an app to track attempts and sends during a workout. However, a lot of the actions I want to do are difficult or missing from this app.

It should be easier to use the session to add climbs. Currently a session is useless to me. I have to navigate to the “Gyms” tab, pick the gym I’m at, find the section, find the climb, and indicate if I sent it or “fell”. For sessions to be useful, I’d love if you could pin the gym you are at and if you could save some routes as your active projects. I want to open the app and click once or twice to indicate if I sent or not. The current flow discourages me from recording climbs. The “recommended problems” that you already have is a much better UI, but I did not find it initially. There’s also when you scroll down on an individual gym and click “All Boulders”. This UI is also decent. Why are there 3 different ways to filter/mark sends? And the 2 good ones are hard to find!

The app freezes if I click Profile > Wristband but try to back out.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad you found the way to get to your gym by following the gym and then navigating to it through your dashboard from the recommended climbing section. You can click on the gym card there and get directly to the areas of the gym. Keeping the clicks down is always a priority. That’s why we’ve added a few ways to get to places. We’re currently working on a wristband and scanner solution that would further simplify things and keep the interaction in the app to a minimum. Look for it in your gym soon.
  • Hard to find routes

No left to right option? I like being able to sort by age, filter out setters etc but every guidebook list left to right (or reverse).

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback. We had a left to right option for a while but it required more work from the setters and in general, wasn’t used by gyms. We may bring it back and try to encourage them to use it.
  • Not usable - app pages go beyond phone screen

I was barely able to log in because the check box to agree to the terms was halfway off of my iPhone SE 2020 screen. When I did login, I was unable to get past the 3-page intro because the scrolling dots were over the “get started” button and wasn’t letting me select it. Would just go back to the second page. Bummed I can’t even use this app.

Sorry I didn't see this until now. Someone else brought this issue up and it's been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you should be good now.
  • Super glitchy

    App keeps freezing

Thanks for the feedback. We’d love any more info you could provide about what was glitchy at support@pebbleclimbing.com
  • Great addition to e-guides

Thanks for taking the time to create this app. I think accessibility in climbing is something often frowned upon, glad to see you are helping people share info.
  • Finally able to track my progress!

There’s a problem where I can’t report a missing climb. It says to select a grade, but it won’t let me.

Aside from that, I’m happy to have a way to track progress and look back at what I tried and sent.
  • Want to love but won’t work

This app won’t find climbs for me to track. I have the iPhone 12 Pro which has really good AI due to the liDAR scanner but this app cannot seem to find routes. Wish i could use this app more to track my progress with my phone.

    Developer Response

Hey ReenDog, thanks for the feedback. The "Find Climbs with your Camera" feature is still fairly experimental. We use pictures of the start holds as markers to find climbs using the AR. We can't leverage lidar since most phones don't have it yet, so the iPhone 12 is trying to find the climbs in the same way as the rest of the phones. We're still experimenting and hope to get it working better, but for now it's probably best to use the normal gym navigation to find climbs and log ascents. Early next year, we plan on adding some new technology that will help you navigate your way around the gym without so many clicks.
  • I like the app, but routes need to be more clear

I love the idea of this app, but I often get self conscious when using it because it takes me forever to figure out which route I just completed. It’s not always necessarily clear which area of the gym I’m in, so it’s hard to figure out which route it was. It appears each route in the gym has a number, so maybe there could be a feature where you look it up by number?

Thanks for the feedback, FirebirdSWM. We realize it can be hard matching the routes in the app with the one you just climbed, but we are working on a solution to this and it should be in the app early next year if not sooner.
  • Fun!

I’m really enjoying logging my gym climbing on pebble... it’s honestly a bit addictive. I also like being able to see what walls my gym has reset! I haven’t used the outdoor features much but plan to use them to log my climbing over the summer.
