I have done Atkins and keto before and I always know what I SHOULD be eating, but the problem was making myself do it … and not fall off the wagon.
I’m here to tell you, there’s nothing like real time data to keep you honest! I can immediately see the effect on my blood sugar when I eat foods that are not healthy for me to have right now.
Within the first 10 days, I lowered my average daily blood glucose 25 points to the point where I was consistently staying within normal range every day. My resting heart rate has dropped nearly 10 bpm. My blood pressure has gone down, all of this reversal and just a few short weeks.
I can also see the immediate effect of getting moving on my blood sugar- it blunts the spike and helps it drop back to baseline much faster than if I am sedentary. And it really does not take much movement to do that- just vacuuming the house and other chores work, besides getting outside for a walk.
The app support and coach support is great, lots of nutrition, great coaches, and they keep improving it.
I am hopeful that once I heal my metabolism more “off-limits“ foods will be added to my list. I’ve already had some added for me and I’ve just been on this program for about a month! Looking forward to reversing my T2D!
My doctor never did anything like this for me. Thank you BCBS TX for recommending it- it is a life-changer. (And yes I am also down 7 lbs without counting a single calorie or macro or even trying anything except staying on the “green” list!)
