  • Hello <3

I was frustrated with the app at first but that was only because I was speaking to fast. Make sure to speak clear and at the same speed as the tutor. I really enjoy this app. It’s helping with my Korean skills a lot.

안녕하세요!! This is an amazing app when I can actually use it. I’m gonna be realistic with what happens to me.

So, I open the app and I get the lesson list and the daily free lesson or whatever. I still can’t figure out where to start the lessons (any of the lessons but the free one), so when I press on the free lesson, it will bring up something that says “watch this add so we can continue to grow” or something similar.

After that, I watch the add, and it brings up a black screen with white text, and a white box. I tap it, and it brings up a button that says start/go/etc. As soon as I press start, another add comes up. Then it goes back to the black screen. I have only been able to learn 안녕하세요 (though I already knew it)

It is amazing of what I have done, which is why I’m giving this a 4 star. I will change it to 5 if you fix the adds, which is very annoying

(btw idk if there is a premium cuz I’m on downtime for it rn but I don’t have it so ya)

감사합니다 for reading, and have a nice day! Thx for taking the time to read!

Ps, I just went into it and I could do the first lessons, not just the free lesson... so I give this a 4.75 star rating 😄😄

Ok, so update! I can do the first lesson in chapter one (안녕 and 안녕하세요), but it won’t stop loading for lesson 2, so.... ya

  • Good but...

The app is good. I like how it gets you practicing speaking from the start which can build confidence and allows you to learn how Korean’s actually speak (not textbook). However, I think it would be better if there were easier access to the full conversation scripts as it’s quite time consuming needing to keep playing and pausing the videos to jot down what the other persons saying in order to study those lines which is something that’s necessary in order to learn otherwise the short one liners the students are prompted to say would be useless or not worth the money. And because there’s isn’t a rewind or fast forward button, if you pause too late you need to wait for the video to play through again, which again is time consuming. Overall, good app but more content for studying and learning purposes would be much better and would feel like better value for money.

Hello! Wow this is awesome feedback, we have taken a lot of it into consideration since you first posted this review, and have added not only the ability to rewind, but also to fast forward, and recently we started introducing short grammar lessons, which are available in units 1-1 through 1-5. Please be sure your app is updated to the latest version and thanks for speaking with teuida - Eryqa :)
  • So great!

I tried the free trial, and loved it so much I’m going to subscribe right after I leave this review. Not for a total beginner (know your alphabet and how to pronounce it) but great for learning basic grammar and checking your pronunciation, especially if you’re embarrassed to talk to friends or a tutor yet. I am all of those things, haha. I love how they break down each word, pronounce it, show the Hangul, and explain the sentence structure. And they voice recognition software is really good! Not 100% but I’m sure will get there. Already it’s better than Siri 😂. I’ve already learned so much. I need it for work, but plenty of Kpop content here for those of you interested in that (I am too, admittedly). Can’t wait to see where they develop this app. They also asked for my feedback in a survey, so they are all about improving. And their real-life conversation scenarios are so helpful to get over that fear of speaking. 5 stars!!

Hey Austinite_Vicky! Welcome to the Teuida Fam! Yup yup! We totally get you. It ain't easy talking to real people sometimes even when you know your stuff. • User Friendly

While I study with a number of other resources, Teuida is a resource I would think others would find very digestible. The lessons jump right into conversational things like introductions and basic greetings. So, you may need to find another resource to cover the absolute basics like 한글 (Hangeul), but that is up to how thorough or the Korean language you want to explore. Basic conversation is still very much a valuable lesson given here, so I don’t have many negative things to say. The app implementing speech answers is very effective, as it makes the user step out of their comfort zone with speech and pronunciation. Overall, I’ve enjoyed the lessons I’ve explored thus far. Access to more lessons would be amazing, but I understand the marketing aspect of it. I don’t think a paid membership would be a waste, if you have the means to afford it.

  • really good app, but could use some updates.

First of all, I want to say that the concept of this learning language app is the best I have came across. I enjoy the concept of learning realistic dialogue instead of learning how to say things that aren’t necessarily useful. I also enjoy the instructors, they give a clear understanding and great guide to proper Korean pronunciation, I appreciate that. Now, there are some little things that I would change if I was a developer for this application. I do not mind the ads because I know the company, developers, and teachers work very hard and need support; but I do think they are a bit excessive. I think there should be a bit more structure when it comes to the levels and lessons: For example, have the learner complete the lesson first with a high grade before being able to access the dialogue. Also, if a learner doesn’t have premium, they should be given a timer on when they can access their next learning session. Other than that, I am very excited to see where else this app will go!

Lexia!!! These are some golden feedback. Are you an app developer yourself? Do you think we could talk more about these things? Would love to pick your brain and discuss these ideas. Please shoot me an email at nelson@teuida.net! I would love to implement some of the ideas mentioned here. and YES I totally agree that these ads are too much. We're working on partnering with other ad providers to put an end to this ad madness. -Nelson
  • Amazing App!!!

I absolutely love this app!! I always have a hard time speaking a new language and if I try to find someone to speak it with it’s so incredibly awkward, so this app is the perfect solution!! It also explains the phrases really well and breaks down the pronunciation, as well as explain the meaning. Duolingo has speaking activities for Korean, however its noooo where near as good as this app. Plus, this app is designed for speaking and has actual Korean people pronouncing the words, so it’s so much easier to understand.
If you have the money to, I would definitely recommend upgrading. I think it’s 100% worth it and once I start a lesson I want to keep doing more!
Thank you to the developers for making such an amazing app!! It’s extremely helpful and such an amazing resource for learning Korean!! 💜

Hey there 222am! It makes us beyond happy to hear from users like you how much you love the app. We totally understand the pain and awkwardness involved with speaking in a new language with someone in real life. Teuida was made exactly with people like us in mind. We want to provide a safe space for you to practice and gain some confidence before going to the real world out there. We love the folks at Duolingo but thought that when it comes to speaking, they really weren't getting the job done. Thank you for your kind words and we hope to one day speak with you in Korean irl! -Nelson
  • Helpful, but limited

So far, this app is very helpful! I like that it takes you through pronunciation step by step and that it repeats it. I enjoy that it includes multiple examples for each thing as well, rather than just saying “I am (name),” it also includes “I am a student.” There is one thing that I do not particularly enjoy, I wish there was more things for the people using the free version. I understand why they have more on premium, but it is very upsetting to learn that there is only one lesson available for free users. There is no other review besides that one lesson, which is not super helpful to some users. Overall this app is very good and helpful and it has a lot of potential. I would love to see some more free content added and maybe a game or two for review and memorization, rather than just mini quizzes and the active response videos. Keep up the good work, can’t see what the future holds for this app!! :)

Hey there Zebra Zooloo! First of all, thank you so much for your thorough review. Our small team is always looking for ways to improve the app and help the user's Korean learning so it's really meaningful to us when you share your thoughts. It sounds like the biggest issue at hand is the fact that there's not much provided for the free users. We've received a lot of requests from people who were not able to afford the Premium. Our team discussed many ideas and decided to release one free chapter for free users every 24 hours! Hope you give that a try and tell us what you think. There are some ads you have to watch but we thought it was a good tradeoff. Thank you for seeing the potential in our app and for suggesting little games for review! We're working on having some kind of a review for sure! Thank you so so so much and please don't hesitate to contact us at support@teuida.net if you have any other suggestions/comments/questions. - Nelson
  • Love it!

I started today and I love this app. I never usually leave reviews but I have been learning Korean for a while and could say things like hello, how are you?, good thanks, I’ll forgive you, fly, dumpling and things like that. I only started trying to learn the language after listening to BTS as I started to fall in love with the language and would love to live in Korea no because of BTS but just because I really like it there. I then downloaded this app and in 10 minutes I already learnt how to say where I’m from, my name is, it’s a please to meet you and more and I’ve already memorised it all. I love this app so much and recommend it to anyone trying to learn Korean💚💚
