  • Beware — won’t cover simple travel claims!

    This company was super disappointing for me. Transavia airline moved my arrival airport from Amsterdam to Eindhoven, over 100km away, several weeks before my flight. HeyMondo wouldn't cover the cost of my new ticket (<$500 total for a family of 4) because it wasn't weather or equipment related. This was massively disruptive to my trip, and I spent probably 20 hours working through the claims process with their provider to no avail. I won't be using Heymondo again and despite being a convenient tech-based option, would highly recommend that folks go through a more traditional travel insurance provider.

  • Scammers! They never reimbursed me

    I got there insurance to Greece. My baggage was delayed in Athens and I stayed the entire trip in Rodolfo without any of my items, I called them and they gave me the go ahead to buy stuff for any day that the airline doesn’t send my bag till the limit. That was in June 2023. I have sent countless emails, filled forms and gotten on calls with them. No action has been taken and now they are just ignoring me. Be careful when you purchase if anything happens, you are on your own.

  • Never buy this insurance

    Disaster! None of the hospitals in China knew this insurance. Because I want to make sure the hospital process the insurance I have but no one did. I was puzzled and I called service center it the line kept being cut several times and people speak Spanish to you. When finally did they asked for supporting documents and I did send it after my 72 hours was complete. But before they even give list of hospitals or some kind of referral they claim that I called them before my 72 hours and they cannot provide me any service. Did I go to any hospital before my 72 hours and send a claim no!!!!!! I only called to get inquiry about the insurance and lis of hospitals I could go to when my 72 hours are complete!!!! Don’t waste your money and time. Horrible service never never never !!! I want my money back

Regarding our policies, please note that when purchasing insurance while travelling, as is your case, there is a 72 hour grace period meaning there will be no coverage for the first 72 hours from the day of purchase. This information is displayed online when you check the "already abroad" box and also appears in the policy certificate you received at the time of purchase. You should also note that chronic or preexisting conditions are not covered and neither are events that take place prior to the purchase of the insurance or during the mentioned grace period. As the medical assistance you requested was during said grace period, unfortunately it is not covered by the policy. Having said this, our Customer Service team has reached out to you via email to offer you assistance with cancelling your policy should you wish to do so. Please feel free to get back to them so that they can proceed to cancel and fully refund the purchased insurance. We remain at your disposal for any further information you may need.   • It’s a scam! Do not purchase this Travel Insurance

    My flight was canceled by my airline and my trip was interrupted. I submitted all the paperwork requested by Heymondo as Cancellation & Interruption was included in the policy covered for $3,500. I submitted all Hotels receipts to be covered. They denied coverage as they said Flight cancellation by the Airline is Not covered. Isn’t that the point of Cancellation and Interruption coverage? Do not use them! It’s a Scam!

  • Maximum age

    Reasonable price but now that I am 50years old I cannot get any coverage at all. ☹️

    Hello, thank you for contacting Heymondo. As a general rule, we do ensure travelers older than 49 years old, but only if the trip does not exceed 29 days.   • Do not buy this insurance if you live in the United States

    I bought the hey mondo travel insurance and had to cancel my trip… the reason was clearly covered according to the hey mondo website but when I went to file a claim I was referred to a third party Spanish insurance provider who declined coverage .. they do not have a United states presence so there is no regulation or appeal process… hey mondo is a total rip off

  • Can’t get past Home Screen

    I just bought the insurance and downloaded app. The app doesn’t work. It’s frozen at Home Screen. I already uninstalled and reinstalled.
