Why doesn’t this awesome game have more reviews. If you like Wordle but want something with more competitive gameplay and strategy, Hexicon is for you. It extends the Boggle concept of creating words on a hexagonal grid of semi random letters. Like Letterpress, gameplay involves surrounding and claiming your opponents tiles, but unlike Letterpress, the longest playable word is not the best play unless it is tightly wound up into a coil. My advice to newbies is to claim all the vowels to prevent opponents from making strong plays and to chain words to maximize real estate. If you find you are behind or ahead by 2 you have nothing to lose by setting yourself up for multi-hexicons in a future play. I do wonder why more scrabbly letters like Z and X are curated out of the letter bank. I would also love a pass option for the first play. This would allows more advanced players to exercise some degree of mercy or let a beginner cede a grid they don’t know what to do with rather than discourage new players.
