Meh

The taking picture function wasn’t as nice as I thought it would be… it obviously can’t see everything you’re eating so you have to search each food. Not that different from other food tracking apps, BUT you are restricted to only add food based on weight rather than being able to switch to quantity, which made this way more work than apps my fitness pal. Maybe I’m a “bad diabetic”, but I don’t weigh all my food. Additionally, maybe in a few years there will be more brands entered from other users, but basic brands aren’t in the system and the search function is very finicky. For $70 a year this is a no for me

Beware

I just wanted to try this app out and the only way to is to sign up for a year’s subscription as part of a 7 day trial. I almost immediately forgot about the trial I started because frankly the app is just not that practical. I asked both their customer support and Apple for a refund after being charged $50 for an app I used once and will never use again. They denied my refund which is something I’ve never seen before. Seems like it’s just part of their revenue model. The app might be useful for some but just be careful when doing their forced trial.

I love my SNAQ!

I’ve been a T1D for 51 years and have tried countless carb-tracking apps. Recently along came this weird app called SNAQ! I downloaded it and was impressed right away. The feature in particular is the running graph that shows my line of blood sugar numbers throughout the day. I plug in my meal to get the carb count, then go to my pump or t:connect on my iPhone to enter the carbs. I let it figure out the units I need, press either button to administer insulin, then go back to SNAQ & record that number of units. I also report any Activity I’ve done and write in the Notes any special data I want pertaining to my diabetes that day.
The only issue is in recording the amounts of different food. Right now SNAQ takes only the scale weight, not fluid weight or measuring spoons. Nevertheless, their customer service is quick to respond to emails and I believe they are working to be more user-friendly. More importantly, I have been most often right on target with my numbers since using SNAQ.

Well designed but not reliable

I searched soo long to find a great app for tracking food, insulin, and glucose levels. I was so excited for this app and registered to start using the seven day trial and then consider a subscription. After two days of filling in a ton of data and syncing all of my info, the app randomly crashed and would not allow me to login again. I tried every option, including reset password, but nothing went through.

I finally went on to create a new account again but now looking at the empty app I am exasperated and no longer want to use it. I lost hours of inputting info that I was tracking to show my doctor.

Diabetes is hard enough as it is - those of us who live with it need reliability from our tools. I am so, so annoyed at this.

Response from developer

Hi Marina, we are sorry to hear that the app did not work as it should. Please reach out to support@snaq.io and we are sure we can resolve the issue! Thank you and speak soon

1 + 1 = 2…very simple

Don’t fall for a app that offers a free trial…and then when you don’t want to subscribe that bill you anyway with not a darn thing for your trouble. My so. And I both tried this app. It happened to both of us

I wish this app did not crash

This app appears to have just about everything I am looking for to help with my type one diabetes management. However, this app keeps crashing. I have an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 17.5.1 and I am connected directly to to Dexcom for my BGs and Apple Health for insulin history. I attempted to reboot my phone and app and the app continues to crash.

Hi Omega Monkey, we are very sorry you had this experience. This should not have happened. We indeed identified an issue which affected a very small number of users. This issue is now resolved and we hope you can again enjoy the app normally. We are happy to assist you with any further questions via support@snaq.io

Excellent customer service

This app is great and keeps getting better. It's been a lifesaver for tracking my carb and sugar intake since being diagnosed with type 1 at 40. I've contacted customer service twice. Once to suggest improvements and another for a subscription issue. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a reply to my suggestions from a person that wasn't some AI or automatic b.s. response. An actual person read my notes and responded with answers to each of my points. When I contacted for an issue with my subscription, an actual person responded and helped me quickly resolve it. App can use a little more tweaking, but works as intended and judging by the responsiveness of customer service, I'm sure they'll be the go to app for diabetics and those looking to get a handle on their health/nutrition.

Thank you so much for the feeback and review. Really happy to hear! We are indeed working hard to improve the app with each update based on the feedback from people using it every day.

Contour Next One no download and only 3 month subs available

After a week of research I thought to buy a contour next one meter and pair to snaq, what I thought looked like a great combination. After I got them paired and did a test, snaq couldn’t download data. It does see the contour turn off and on fine. Just won’t download. I contacted them let’s see it they figure it out. Also note I was going to buy a month then a year after it all verified. But you are not given any monthly option, 3 is the least, so monthly options should be removed from App Store, need to notify Apple. Beware of that if you want to test more than the free trial which very limited and not really enough to make a decision for long term use, that’s why I was happy to pay a month to test properly. So make sure your meter works with this before buying.

Amazing app

Makes living with diabetes much easier. Super easy to take a picture of my plate and the app will determine carbs. And being integrated with Dexcom is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

Perfect For Young Kids with T1D

My young one was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just over a year ago. It’s a challenging transition, especially when he’s the only one among his friends navigating carbs and insulin dosing. Dining out or at local gatherings, where nutritional details aren’t readily accessible, became a puzzle. But with SNAQ, capturing food details is a breeze! It’s made mealtime less daunting and has brought back the joy of food into our lives.
